I use a 14.5 at work and I am completely happy with it. The shorter barrel would be my choice easier to move around and you still have good accuracy with it.
there is apd range but unless you know someone with land there isn't much to shoot at and apd only goes to 200 lol all this flat land and no long distance ranges.

I think the PDA will give you more options really the only benefit to a kestrel is that you get your DA from weather conditions so it does help in that aspect but for me I run the WHIZ wheel and I have had good luck with it.
