I just can't see the reasoning behind handicapping a WSM/SAUM type cart with a short tube. It ain't like you're bucking tons of brush out there in NoDak? I'd say 7 SAUM, cut it to 24", and go from there. Tanner
This thread has been a special one. Get a 7/08, stick a 168 VLD in it going 2700fps, and kill a bunch of elk. Same could be done with a 260 and a 130 VLD. Rocket surgery, it isn't. Tanner
This has been posted on another forum, so I apologize if you've read it already. This year has been a blast, despite being in school I've gotten to do lots of hunting with friends. This was my 4th day hunting for myself and finally stumbled onto a decent buck. Another great hunt with my...
Thanks! It worked pretty well last Friday.... and the Limbsaver helps a lot. Found out that it stacks 162 A-Maxes, too. Not much of a contest, but this buck died at 215 yards via 168 Berger VLD.
T3 Super-Lite in 7mm Remmy.... I figured it would be a good one to drag around the mountains. We'll find out this weekend. I switched the scope from this 6x42 M1 to a VX-III 3.5-10x40 with an M1 elevation knob. Needs a Limbsaver something fierce :D So far, it's looking like it will do well...
Just bought one in 7 Rem... Goddamnn thing is light. I'm going to be working up loads for 168 VLDs this coming weekend. I'll report back after... Tanner
Truly some incredible photos and even more inspiration to try the Unlimited in a few years. Thanks, Pat.... Here are a few I wish I would have done a little better. Wish I'd turned a fill flash on for Dad's buck last year. We were bushed after a long couple days... These photos were tough as...
If you aren't opposed to spending a little dough... I'd go with a Mountain Rifle profile SS tube of your choice, 1-8" twist so YOU can dick around with some heavies :) , cut at 22". Put that sucker in a McMillan Mountain Rifle Edge handle, ADL bottom metal, and put the little Leupold in some...
If I could figure this shit out before I was old enough to vote, it shouldn't be too big of a deal for an able-minded grown man.... The "0" is there for a reason.
Gotta' agree CBM, my favorite thing about yellow bellied marmots is their habitat. Nothing like being way up high around timberline. It's where I love to be.
Nice posts! I shot the piss out of chucks this summer, too. Even with Colorado's stupid ass chuck laws.... ya' just got to be careful and follow the rules... 243 AI did a number on most of them. This one died at 410 yards via 105 A-Max. These ones, at 250 via the 105 A-Max. I shot these...
