I have an elite iron Sierra .338 suppressor that I use on my 338 LM. I recently picked up a ruger frontier in 338 fed. I figured the short 38 fed would be a dandy candidate for a suppressor. The only down side is the barrel is only .665 at the muzzle. I was wondering if a 9/16x24 would...
The only down side was if I used my suppressor it was way over gassed and sprayed gas into your face, if adjusted down to limit that it would short stroke without the suppressor. I decided to just run this one sans suppressor. Accuracy isn’t quite what I expected from a proof barrel. The...
Well it’s accurate but it not cycling. It’s short stroking. It’s only ejecting 20% and not picking another round up. I picked up another non adjustable gas block to try out, I also grabbed a couple different buffer weights and a lighter buffer spring to try. I’m wishing I had gone with...

I tried my salt bath Annealing kit today. It was easy to set up and use. I’m looking farward to swing if there is a noticeable benefit when shooting. 2x fires Lapua 308 brass and virgin 338 RCM brass for the test run. 5 seconds @ 500 C° I used a cut down 30/30 brass to adjust the...
My rifle has a 1-7 Schneider 26” long barrel using Re26 powder 41.5gr in hornady 6mm CM brass. LRI did the action and barrel work. I found good accuracy at this velocity and didn’t feel the need to run it any harder. I was hoping to extend barrel life using heavy bullets at slightly...
I had the same issue with fliers. Seemed like one group would be 1/2” and the next throw two fliers out to 1.25-1.5” I ended up getting a Green mountain barrel. Seems more consistent but the factory barrel would throw tighter groups from time to time.
It’s actually pretty light compared to a lot of chassis. My heavy barreled action is the deciding factor on that rifle. The X-ray and bravo are both fairly light while still very rigid.
