MPA 6.5 creedmoor / Kelby's Atlas Tactical Action Load is 41.5 H4350 Hornady brass Cci br-2 primer OAL 2.814 which is a .030 jump in my chamber ( yours may be different) I’ve tested this load out to 1050 yards and accuracy remained excellent when I do my part in the wind.
Depends on the rifle. I usually settle on a powder charge then do a seating depth test to see what the individual rifle likes best. That being said my current barrel likes that bullet best at a .030 jump. I load them 2.814 which is .030 jump in my chamber in a aics style pmag
I ran into that issue with Lapua 6.5 creedmoor brass. I took the decapping rod out of a Lee collet die and sanded it down to fit the Lapua brass flash hole. Works great now
I normally order those from midway if they are on sale which they often are. Or if not powder valley has them about the same price as midways sale price. Roughly $140 for 500 count. Just looked though and both places are out of stock at the moment on 500 ct boxes. I’d be interested as well...
Yes I suspect it will work out just fine for you. I’ve shot the factory loaded and handloads mentioned out to 930 yards with acceptable accuracy just ringing steel which is mainly what I do. Velocity es in the teens. Hard to beat for brass you already have.
That’s exactly what I did. Found it on sale and got a couple hundred rounds and kept the brass. The factory 140 eld match shoots awesome out of mine. That’s what it’s throated for as well. Ive reloaded them twice now and with 41.5 h4350 the dope out about the same as the factory’s and shoot...
I agree I don’t think it’s to much to ask for honesty up front and along the way about lead times. That goes for any type of business. Yes things come up and delays happen but is an honest call and update to much to ask when dropping 3-6k on a rifle. I would think once accustomed to a trade...
Not sure why that showed up 3 times lol. But another thing to consider is which brass you will be using. Lapua and maybe a couple other brands have small primer pockets and the primer stem on my Lee set won’t fit a small primer pocket. I know some guys that have sanded down the stem to make...
I’m currently using the Lee ultimate die set for 6.5 and 308 with no complaints. I might be missing out on something with the higher end dies but up to this point I see good consistency and accuracy for the kind of shooting I do. The collet neck die seems to be working well for mid to long...
