Rifle Scopes Help selecting a Nightforce scope please...

Re: Help selecting a Nightforce scope please... 15X is plenty for target shooting at 1000 yd 50mm objective would be my choice - Unless you're doing a lot of shooting in low light/night The NPR1 is very fine as has been stated above. Good for targets, not so good for hunting. I believe...

Hunting & Fishing Judge for Bear

Re: Judge for Bear Am I being stupid here or doesn't the judge also take .45 Colt? Better than shot on any bear Minimun accepted pistol calibre for bear protection round here is .44 mag. Now getting a permit to carry for self protection in the bush is another thing....

    cleaning rods

Re: cleaning rods Maybe I'm missing the point but if you're cleaning properly using a bore guide, the rod should not contact the barrel anyway.

    G4 Operator Pack

Re: G4 Operator Pack Yeah its good, but not perfect for me. Well made, but for my needs perhaps too complex. Would I buy Eberlestock again? - for sure. If you search on SH there are numerous discussions on this and other EB packs. Bear in mind they are american designed only (not...

    Which ammo for zeroing

Re: Which ammo for zeroing I would reccomend HPS ammunition www.hps-tr.com I used to use their 175 SMKs in the TRG22 and they were consistantly good. I've heard good things about the NRA RUAG 155s from trusted sources, but have not used them myself - I prefered to stick with the one...

260 rem, 7mm08 which to choose

Re: 260 rem, 7mm08 7mm08ai, which to choose I'm aware of the .260 advantages for 1000 yard shooting over the 308. What I'm looking for is a round i can use for silhouette, deer and informal target shooting. Also I might have to deal with defence against black bear- (yes I want it all!)...

Starting out again, what's a good starter rifle?

Re: Starting out again, what's a good starter rifle? Just a couple of things: Although I agree with the 'spend as much money on the scope as the rifle' idea , I started out with a 10x Super Sniper on my TRG for the first year til I had saved up for a Nightforce. I now keep it as a spare -...

    Sako trg stock lop

Re: Sako trg stock lop Not trying to be funny (maybe I misunderstood) but why would you want to put a Remington into a TRG stock? I have two spacers on mine ( I think) and the LOP is 14 1/4 inch (362mm). The Trg stock is good , but I bought into the TRG for the overall rifle versus price. If...

What lock do YOU use for travelling?

Re: What lock do YOU use for travelling? Having not flown with my rifles before ( usually take boat on european trips - less hassle). Am I right in thinking that the bolt travels in the case with the rifle? Am flying over to Vancouver with a couple of rifles from the UK in the summer...

    77gr SMKs in 1/9

Re: 77gr SMKs in 1/9 I've had good results with 77gr SMKs (loaded by HPS in UK) out of my LTR (1 in 9 , 20 inch). Sub moa at 100 (half inch 5 shot groups when I get it right) and good out to 600 yards.
