Re: 77gr SMKs in 1/9 I've had good results with 77gr SMKs (loaded by HPS in UK) out of my LTR (1 in 9 , 20 inch). Sub moa at 100 (half inch 5 shot groups when I get it right) and good out to 600 yards.

Re: 30-06 help Do you usually shoot whitetails at 700 yards with a different rifle/calibre? If so then stick with that combo until you have sorted an accurate 30 06 round for your savage. I don't know what your experience is , but you need to be able to keep all shots within the kill zone...
