Lost a Benchmade Claymore in the field (Shitting at work story). Looking at either a Kershaw Livewire or an Ultratech D/E OD Standard. I know the answer is Ultratech bit wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out.

I love my Microtechs, also look at Guardian Tactical. I have the recon 035 in a tanto that is legit.
I love my Microtechs, I favor the troodons and Scarabs, I found the Ultratech a bit too small for my preference. Spendy and they like to be kept clean but I always have one on me. I also like the S/E’s or T/E’s as opposed to the D/E’s. Just my .02.
Definitely Microtech. The Ultratechs are nice, but yes just barely on the small side. If you can, get one with some texturing. The black one in the pic below is a Makora, which is just an Ultratech with some nice added touches. The grip tape is a big help. I also prefer the Combat Troodons and Scarabs.

I have both, the livewire is a better cutter and has better steel. LW pocket clip sucks. The glass breaker on the UT is dumb. I haven't tried the new UT though as im done with their shitty steel. The steel on the microtechs don't seem to hold an edge as long. I had the new combat troodon gen3 that i gave to my niece.

I only use Microtech Ultratechs for OTFs. They are the best I have owned.
Some Ultratechs come with a reversible clip, and the deployment/retraction slider is on top.
