Good read about our traitorous gov.

And people still think we can vote our way out of this......

I've been reading the federalist papers for school and it's amazing how Madison knew that these small little groups one day would be the demise of our country.

Doc
But...but....but they were old white people...how racist of you to mention they understood how things today would work...good golly ms molly.

The Founding Fathers (that's right, I said it), were so much smarter than anybody has given them credit for. Shit back then people had time to ponder and think for themselves - hence why Newton, Raphson and LaPlace and all those math weenies figured out stuff we have today (along with that really old dude Archimedes whose writings were mostly destroyed).

A few did but the average citizen in those days was an illiterate idiot.

They did manage to build the greatest nation in the world. In fact, even in 1776 "American Exceptionalism" was a thing.

Moreover, literacy rates in America were much higher than in most of Europe. The Foundation for Economic Education estimates that around 80% of men and 50% of women in New England were literate by 1776. These number quickly rose, and by the 1800s, only one in four Americans were illiterate.https://readcenter.org/literacy-rat... in America,in four Americans were illiterate.

I was speaking of the time of Newton who was a European. I dont know about the others except Archimedes but the 'average' Joe of his time was no genius.

Also, Id guess that New England, where the Harvards ruled, was far more literate than most of the rest of what would become the United States. My family landed in Hanover Virginia in 1640. One or more of them fought for the United states in every war since (with the exception of The Civil War). My cousins and myself were the first generation to go to college. My grandfather, a hard working, good man, never went to school a day in his life. He did teach himself to read and write.

Being illiterate doesn't necessarily mean they were not smart. I know folks who have no formal education but I'd deem are as smart if not smarter than myself and a lot of others I work with. Unable to read and right was commonplace back then.

Illiterate:
  1. Unable to read and write.
  2. Having little or no formal education.
  3. Marked by inferiority to an expected standard of familiarity with language and literature.

Agreed, note that I mentioned my grandfather, He taught himself to read but his exposure to the larger picture was very limited. As today, where many people are 'educated/indoctrinated. only a few make the decisions. Read: Parasitea in DC, and even most of them are little more than pawns for a very few others. Half the nation thinks theyre the real thing.

I think the average European, and generally the average American, of that time was too busy just trying to survive to bee too informed on world events.

A few were quite savvy, like Franklin. But the mass of people I'd agree were struggling to survive. However, all this edumacation ain't got us much as of late.

Just looking at my neighbors kids. One is in 6th grade, the other in 3rd. They do not know how to ride a bike. All they ride is some 3 wheeled thing that has 2" wheels and is like a tricycle. They call it a turtle or something. PATHETIC. One parent is supposedly an engineer (who cannot figure out how to put the chain back on a children's bike (when they tried to learn). Education...highly overrated at times.

Correct! Everyone is smart and good at something, even if they’ve never had any formal training. And, there is always going to be someone better than you, no matter how good you are.

Yes! The entire fucking slate needs wiped clean!
Unfortunately it wouldnt change a thing because the problem lies not in the system, nor in who is there, but in basic human nature, and in the type of persons who seek power.

Remember this quote by Lord Acton...

"Power tends to corrupt. Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

A few did but the average citizen in those days was an illiterate idiot.

How has that changed? Except for they now can be heard.... the decline of this country is social media

They may not be illiterate, but they are definitely idiots.

Maggot, I live in Hanover Co. You still own any land here? Always looking for places to do some metal detecting.😁

The people in Washington aren’t the problem.

A nuke could hit DC tomorrow taking out every politician we have - and a new capital would grow filled with the same exact people.

At the end of the day the problems are:

a) We live in a system that is almost incapable of being at peace with itself. If there isn’t a war, make one...if that’s too hard right now, make war instead internally.

b) The average American has an IQ of 100. And that means half of them are dumber than that.

At 80, it’s too hard to operate an automobile.

At 90 folks know something is off, but functional adulthood is possible.

At 100, you are able to navigate adult challenges, but things seem to turn out better if you follow the leader.

110+ and making your own decisions generally works out well for you.

c). See B. We are all trapped in here. In this digital corporate dictatorship cleptocracy.

And every second that passes the system climbs the ladder of the intelligence level needed to escape it. First it was the gullible, then it was the open minded, then it was the intelligent, then it is even gaining control of the zealot.

And the level of fortitude. Sure - I can walk away. I just have to give up my grandkids. And my online friends. And enjoyable parts of my hobbies.

It’s sunny outside, there are things to do, new people to meet, trips to take. The dog would live to play frisbee.

And we are all here in the sanitarium, pulling the buckles on our straight jackets tighter with our teeth.

——-

I fear it will take a determined enemy stripping America’s panties around her ankles and violently raping our economy, culture, wealth, safety, and freedom for us to wake up as a nation and see the truth. Maybe something good will be built from the ashes of our once great nation.

I just emailed our Gov. Abbott about the situation in Del Rio with all the Haitians and pleaded with them to put the TX NG down there with strict orders to NO ONE in.
News says most of them are military aged men 18-35. Fuck them let them go back to Haiti and fix their own POS country.
I know quite a few folks here in Texas that are about fed up with this shit.
