Reloading Equipment South Carolina Buy/Sell/Trade thread

I am looking for reasonable loaded .380 ACP ball and Magtech / Sellier & Bellot's 300 AAC Blackout 200 gr. , will consider other subsonic factory loads .

Suppressors Walther PPK/S .22 and Liberty Essence

Any standard velocity .22 ammo will be quieter than high-velocity loads , with a sacrifice in range and terminal-velocity . Most suppressed firearms produce 'crack' and 'thump' . 'Crack' is the sound of the projectile breaking the sound barrier , 'thump' is the sound of the gas leaving the...

Suppressors Walther PPK/S .22 and Liberty Essence

I have PPKs (.380and .22) , PPK/S , and TPHs (.22 and .25 ) for hosts , but I use SWR's Warlock , and other models than yours . The .22 rimfire suppresses best , as the action uses an unlocked breech .

    Suppressors Best 300BLK can?

I recently acquired a Rem/AAC 700 BLK . I already own an SWR 9mm Trident suppressor , with an optional 5/8 x 24 adapter , and an Omega-300 . Both are out of production . The Trident is usable for subsonic loads ... Shooting the Remington 220gr. subsonic load , the Omega-300 was noticeably...

Sidearms & Scatterguns So I was at a local pawn shop...

Schweeettt !!! Hope it didn't cost too much , I haven't seen too many that are plated ... General Patton carried one of those as a belly-gun - his was blued . Al Capone carried one , too .

    Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 carry

Sigfan brings up an excellent point - 'Muscle memory' ... I like short jackets , which is why I use a shoulder rig in the winter . If you like longer jackets , you could use a belt holster all year round and be happy . The IWB design allows the careful fit of the holster to the pistol to retain...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 carry

I like shoulder holsters when I wear a jacket - especially when driving , as mentioned by other contributors . One of the best models , IMHO , was the 1970s-early 80s Jackass line of leather goods . Galco bought them out . I asked the owner to bring back the original Jackass horizontal shoulder...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 carry

The only thing pathetic around here is your lack of manners , breeding , spelling , and comprehension ... Again , "For Various reasons " . The pistols are no longer fit for service , period . I did not alter their threads , the pictures speak for themselves . There is also a picture of an H&K...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 carry

I have been around longer than the 50 years you claim that polymer handguns have . I never said steel is better than polymer - I said that I personally prefer it for CCW , mine actually have aluminum alloy frames . I own a number of H&K arms , and other brands that have polymer frames ... Few -...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 carry

A CCW does not require that kind of service life ... When polymer has enjoyed the history of steel-frame pistols , we'll see who's ignorant .

    Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 carry

I think flat pistols conceal better . I am partial to alloy-frame Colt's 1911 .45 for CCW . A heavy pistol can make your pants sag on that side , cinching your belt tight to compensate can torque your lower back ... Alessi makes a nice shoulder-holster for winter carry . Summertime , I like...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Old "Air Marshal" handgun with " snipe sights"

The ASPs were highly customized Smith & Wesson Model 39s ... The Colt's Special Agent .45 is available with a groove milled down the top of the slide , reminiscent of the ASP's guttersnipe sights ...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Old "Air Marshal" handgun with " snipe sights"

Paris Theodore designed the ASP , and the 'guttersnipe' sights . He founded Seventrees Ltd. , that made specialized holsters . It was purchased by Ken Null , and he is still in business . He does really fine work ... Paris Theodore - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Gunsmithing Tapered-bore question

My thought is that maybe one of the barrel makers has some input on the manufacturing versus practicality - if the idea has any merit , using established , off the shelf ammunition . The idea is to minimize the length of the .30 cal. precision-rifle , without decreasing its efficiency . Imagine...

    Gunsmithing Tapered-bore question

    Not a number-crunching rocket-scientist , but why couldn't normal copper-jacketed ammo work ? The barrel could be roller-forged around a polygonal mandril , a la H&K ( or a Whitworth rifle ) with a taper . For a 16" x .30 bore , the taper wouldn't be as dramatic as field-artillery . My wiki link...

    Gunsmithing Tapered-bore question

In WW-II , the Germans had an anti-tank gun that had a tapered-bore . The advantages were increased velocity and accuracy . The downside was the tungsten projectiles wore the bore out in about 300 rounds ... My question is - could a tapered-bore be used to decrease barrel-length without losing...
