Subsonic Expanding .300 Blackout Speer bullets

The appeal for me is: A) I only have 60% of my hearing as it is. B) I hunt a 24 acre wood surrounded by residential and I don't want to piss off or scare the neighbors. We don't need more anti hunting/firearms people in the world

Subsonic Expanding .300 Blackout Speer bullets

I've used the 200gr Maker Rex to take deer out to 73 yds., my longest shot, and haven't lost one yet. I scoff at those saying we're unethical and we have to pick your shots more carefully. Does that mean that they can disregard good shot placement just because they are supersonic. If so they...

    6.5 Grendel

Try the Maker t rex 120's. Mine runs them flawlessly at 2630fps with 3/4" groups. They perform exactly as advertised.

    .260 Remington

I had the same gun. It is now a 22 incher with an MDT chassis. I do recall having some exceptional loads for the original barrel and light bullets. I'll check my notes and get back to you. What's your reasoning for the light weights?

    SRP brass

My own issue is that I don't want to give up one of my favorite hobbies because I can't get the components to do it. With standard primers being so scarce I'm looking for alternatives.

    Subsonics - All Calibers

I believe the answer is in the physics. If you have two identical gyroscopes but one has a solid "wheel" and the other has one like a spoked bicycle wheel the bicycle wheel gyroscope will be more stable and for a longer period. With a higher % of its weight further from its axis it develops...

    SRP brass

When switching to SRP brass from standard should you also move up to a magnum SRP or will a standard still give you reliable ignition

    Subsonics - All Calibers

I had the same problem with my blackout and the 220 Hornadys. Switched to the Maker 210's and problem solved.

Any Experience with Preferred Barrel Blanks?

Took it out again this past weekend with the load that shot about .25 and some others for load development. The .25 load ended up running roughly 1/2 moa for 4ea. 5 shot groups including the cold bore/ fouling shot. It didn't show any particular tendencies so I'm hanging on to it for tuning...

Thanks for the reminder. I have a tendency to slow way down in the winter. As soon as I saw this post I took inventory. Think I'll fire one up tonight.

Any Experience with Preferred Barrel Blanks?

I know this is late but I just got back from breaking in my new Preferred Barrels 900 varmint contour on my CTR. 14 shots to perform break in, 3 shots to get zeroed at 100 and finished the day with a 5 shot, quarter MOA group with a load that did so so in my old barrel. We'll see what happens as...

    Question about Cutting Edge bullet

I'm shooting a 260 rem. The company doesn't reccomend loading the band into the neck which puts a limit on how short I can go. The pic on the sight looks like a single feed bullet. I'm running a Tikka CTR in an MDT chassis and mag.

    Question about Cutting Edge bullet

Can anyone tell me if the 125gr. Laser- Tipped Hollow Point is single feed only

    338 Lapua Magnum

Dave 62677, Can you elaborate? Pressures, accuracy, barrel length, OAL etc... I just switched to the Badlands 255's form the Lehigh Defense 257's cause I can't find them anymore. Once the Lehigh's are fired I'll be switching and will likely need a new load. Thanks,

    338 Lapua Magnum

For those of you running the 265 gr. Badlands ICBM's what is your twist? I'm a bit disappointed that they call for a 9 twist. My barrel is just a tad slower at 9.4. I bought the 255's to try
