    AXSR 300PRC Magazines

Hello All, I'm getting ready to pick up an ASXR next week, and I've seen reports of the 300 Win Mag magazines not feeding well. I talked to the fine folks at MH, and they said they could adjust the mags if they didn't feed. Is there a high-quality and reliable alternative to AI mags? I need to...

    Kimber EVO SP?

That would be nice. Eurooptic had a deal on an EVO for $499, that's cheaper than a G43 with night sights, so I ordered it today.

    Kimber EVO SP?

Thanks for the input. I like how light the J-Frame is but don’t like how it points, it’s like everything I don’t like about Glock X10. It’s too bad there aren’t more options for high quality metal pistols. I guess the $500 pistols are money makers.

    Kimber EVO SP?

Hello All, I'm curious if anyone has any experience with the Kimber EVO SP? I was shopping for a J-Frame and saw one of these in the case. It's got a great trigger, and it points well. I know Kimber has had QC issues in the past, Does anyone know if that has been resolved? Thanks!

    Accuracy International AT-X

Does anyone have a link for that gold Anal bead? (Asking for a friend).

    Accuracy International AT-XC

The bridge is $275, and the hinge is $262, that's $537. The ATX-C is $1288 more than the AT-X. That's $751 for a lighter bolt lift; I suppose it's worth it to the spandex-wearing PRS guys.

Looking for a better hunting scope for my rifle

Amazon is your friend. So long as you check the return policy, you could order a couple of different scopes and compare. So long as you don't mount it, most places will allow returns. I looked at the Nightforce SHV 4-14x50 and the Vortex LHT 3-15x42. The NF had better turrets but the Vortex...

    A "Dog" question.

I've got a Goldendoodle as a service animal for my hearing. I can't hear sirens while I'm driving or smoke alarms. My dog will alert me to those sounds. The training is expensive, around $5k for something simple like what I've described, and escalates quickly for more complex activity. My...

Barrel preheating (is it a thing)

I always rub my barrel down with K-Y warming liquid. Sometimes, I dip my bolt in it, too. It makes those longer shots easier.

.223 rem vs 6.5 cr for first mid range rifle

Maybe not, but if you want to learn precision shooting, you need an accurate rifle (sub moa) and good ammo. Otherwise, you're chasing your tail. There's a lot of bad advice in this thread; it's like one of those: "What kind of scope should I buy to shoot 300 yards?"

.223 rem vs 6.5 cr for first mid range rifle

The ammo cost is a wash. If someone is interested in learning precision shooting and doesn't have time to reload, you've got to buy quality match ammo, and that puts the .223 right up there with larger calibers. The only downside to a 6.5 or 6 Creedmoor is the recoil, and it's not much of a...

.223 rem vs 6.5 cr for first mid range rifle

It's the same money for the gun and the ammo for either the .223 or, say, 6.5 Creedmoor, and with the Creedmoor, you get a much more versatile and capable rifle. If you decide to do other matches like PRS, you will be limited by stage distances with the .223. Again, why buy a less capable...

    a geek’s delight: reverse engineer a distance-velocity table to Cd/Mach curve

I called Garmin and asked if it would work like that, and the guy said he didn't know why it wouldn't so long as the bullet path passes through the 15"X15" window at a consistent position within the window.
