Re: MN member checking in! Longrange, how much did you have to open up the barrel channel to get what looks like a 40" barrel in there? Austan, can you still get your hands on 5 gallon pails of cottage cheese? I am feeling lactose deficient, let me know if you guys are going to make it over...

    Recommend a skeet gun

Re: Recommend a skeet gun When my wife showed an interest in shotguns I got her a Mossberg Silver reserve sporting. 12 gauge, o/u single trigger, ported barrels, looks nice, takes beretta/benelli chokes and relatively inexpensive. If and when she would benefit from something better I will be...

Advanced Marksmanship Crazy idea.. a parkerized trigger shoe?

Re: Crazy idea.. a parkerized trigger shoe? With my son's rifle we got a 1/8 inch o-ring from the hardware store, stretched it around the trigger shoe for a tactile aid in consistent trigger finger placement. Not exactly a finger weld, but one less thing to worry about.

    Would you load these?

Re: Would you load these? Absolutely I would. If you want, use a tapered punch to round out the necks, then full length size as usual. Little dents in case won't hurt, they will blow right out. I might be concerned if the cases or mouths were creased, but I have reloaded worse looking cases.

Re: MN member checking in! I was wondering if anybody was interested in trading a stinger case for some 69 SMK's. Looking for about 1k of them, my son has shot up that many already this spring, and does'nt appear to be getting tired of it. I would like to keep this local, I don't want to ship...

Re: MN member checking in! sparks1, at the next Princeton match talk to Greg. He did a 6.5x47 for me as well as some other work, I would recommend him very much. I see he's shooting a 30 caliber now, but his 6BR shot pretty well also.

    Bench Tripod?

Re: Bench Tripod? I have a Ray-vin mount for my Leica. For using it on the bench I bought a set of those cheap pipe clamps that use black gas pipe. I had to turn down a little as mine is the 3/4 inch head, the 1" might fit as is. The Ray-vin is worth every penny, the clamp is cheap, rock...

    Gunsmithing Distracted

Well, I'm sitting here watching marine-tex dry, when it dawns on me that I did not tape the front, sides, and bottom of my lug. My fault, I've bedded lots but the neighbor wanted to watch and I was trying to time this so I am not up til midnight. What do you guys think? Relieve it later, just...

    Hunting & Fishing Snow shoes

Re: Snow shoes I have two pair of the ojibway snowshoes I laced and finished myself. I like them as they nest together well and the tips help them ride up with each step. I had heard they work well for splitting grass, it seems they would, but i have not tried. I prefer the wood to aluminum...

    Gunsmithing Laminated stock finish?

I am in the process of modifying and refinishing a laminated stock for my 12 year old son so that he can start shooting 3 position free rifle. I know that the automotive type clears are good for this, however I do not have the equipment or desire to buy it for just one stock. My question is, are...
