Rifle Scopes What the pros use confusion

Once you get a best price quote from a dealer the price difference does usually end up being in that 10-15% range as you say there. The thing is, when you're dropping $4,000+ on a scope you're still talking a $500 difference or more between the two options in most cases without one of them...

Rifle Scopes What the pros use confusion

I own a Tangent and have done numerous side by side comparisons in all different conditions, and honestly ZCO vs TT is no different than the endless Schmidt vs NF debates everybody was having before these newer companies came out with better products. Neither is "better", it's legitimately...

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

FWIW in my MG2 with Hawkins DBM I run the standard length magazine catch for both AICS (Accurate Mag and ARC branded ones) and AW magazines without any issues. Didn't even realize they made an AW-specific mag catch because I never had any problems with them that would cause me to look into...

    Why are actions+bolt so expensive

That is the generally idea of how companies try to price their products which have an elastic demand, at the optimum balance of price and consumer demand. I believe Defiance specifically may have found out the hard way that consumer demand for custom actions is, in fact, highly elastic. I seem...

    Why are actions+bolt so expensive

You might want to find a new insurance provider then if you were being quoted at $2,000/year for $30,000 in coverage. A USAA Valuable Personal Property policy (which includes loss, theft, and even accidental damage that occurs during normal use) for ~$12,000 MSRP of rifle + scope + suppressor...

    Why are actions+bolt so expensive

If only insurance didn't require you to list replacement values on anything fun you want coverage for, that would make the 2nd part there much easier.

    What is happening at McGowan

I mean you can't make the barrel any worse than it already is, I'd make sure the threads are at least smooth and in-spec though before screwing it onto any action you care about to avoid damaging the action itself.

    Consensus on ARC mags?

Only issues I've had with ARC mags were if they got dirty, such as if I dropped them or if it was a particularly dusty day with lots of wind. As a result I usually toss mine in an ultrasonic cleaner whenever I get home from the range or a match, keeps them cleaned up nicely, and then if one of...

    AutoTrickler V4

Greg has actively pushed false or misleading information on multiple occasions specifically regarding the accuracy or consistency of electronic scales and powder dispensing systems. I'd take somebody who adds nothing to the community over a guy whose contributions are a net negative.

ATF TO START CONFISCATION OF FRT TRIGGERS TOMORROW

That's because they're not actually doing anything about Rare Breed. The only thing they did actually raid/confiscate was BDU's supply of WOT triggers, which are a separate product that supposedly infringes on Rare Breed patents.

ATF TO START CONFISCATION OF FRT TRIGGERS TOMORROW

The ATF doesn't even have the balls for anyone besides a single field office to claim that the FRT is illegal. I'll believe confiscation is happening when they start knocking on doors or release an official announcement, because a fake email doesn't seem like a reliable source to speculate on.

Reloading Equipment WTB case dryer not manufactured in china

Food dehydrators have always dried brass for me in about an hour or less. Make sure to wait a few minutes after turning it off to get the brass out of the trays though, it gets toasty enough to hurt.

Annealing Brass - Science vs Myths

Actually no, you cannot do 750F for 7 seconds. Temperatures of 750F will anneal brass, but only if held for nearly an hour. It is not high enough temperature to flash anneal the brass. 750F for one hour in an oven will anneal the neck of brass to a hardness of 117HV in the middle of the neck...

    Cold & Snow

Had 6+ inches on the car last night that I cleared off before going to bed, and another 6+ inches piled on it already by morning. Inside one of the initial evac zones for the big Colorado fire, so definitely much needed.

    super trickler

You can't go wrong with any of the offerings from Furman, available both in a rack format and as something similar to a surge protector that you just plug into any old outlet. Just note that their SS-6B power strip has relatively minimal filtration/actual power conditioning and is mostly a surge...

That test was 180 cartridges, loaded over the course of about 5 hours the afternoon before. The ATV3 was powered on for the entire duration of the powder measuring portion, which took about 100 minutes for each device due to changing powder weights and discarding any charges that were XX.X2gr or...
