    Movie Theater Spitfire/The First of the Few

    My dad was in the RCAF during WWII, stationed in England. He was a navigator in the C47... He met a RAF pilot and was able to sneak a ride in a two seater Spitfire. Needless to say it was something to behold and quite a bit more exciting than the Goony Bird C47.

    Either the bore diameter is off, too large or the only time I have seen keyholes is shooting 1000 yards and the bullets went subsonic and tumbled......

    Question on hand feed versus mag feed accuracy issue

    One reason is the jump from the magazine... My LR308 has about .195 jump to the rifling.. Not best for accuracy. I single loaded the same rounds seated .010 off and the groups were very good... I'm getting a barrel made with a short chamber so when seated in the mag the bullets will be about...

    I think I found a good load for my GAP-10

    I tried the load in my DPMS LR308 with Winchester brass and it shoots clover leaf groups.... Very nice. Thanks.

    OK I searched the site and couldn't find the answer so..... When installing a DPMS style barrel extension what are the thread specs for the barrel blank? I heard 1x16, but wanted to be sure. Thanks.

    Did the OCW test and found best POI group. Question is I will now play with seating depth..... Do you shoot the seating depth variations in OCW order or just shoot them? Thanks

    Length to Ogive

    So I need to find the ogive engagement point in my chamber for each bullet I use with the Stoney point tool and the RCBS mic? On the RCBS mic one bullet might be 048, another 052, another 065 depending on the individual bullet ogive where they "zero" on the lands/grooves?

    So I need to measure every bullet in my chamber with the Stoney Point tool? I measured a 168 match bullet and when seated in a dummy round, say got a .048 on the RCBS precision mic. I have been seating other brand match bullets to read .048 on the precision mic. Does this give me the same ogive...

    New savage model 12 .223

    I have the LRPV in 223. It shoots fantastic. Great success with 73 Bergers and 21.5gr imr4895. Also shoots 55gr extremely well. You should enjoy it a lot.

    Probably been asked before, but... To address recoil and muzzle rise recommendations for a comp for 308 gas gun. I've used the JP standard comp... Worked well but shooters next to me hated it, due to side blast. Thanks.

    Why no love for Shilen barrels?

    Have had 3 Shilen select match barrels that were great. Tony Boyer has set so many records with Shilen barrels it isn't funny. Nothing to do with quality, just seems to cater more to the benchrest crowd. That should mean something as the BR crowd are as anal a group as any :-).

    Case Study Of Optimum Barrel Time For 308

    Do I have to buy Quickload in order to calculate OBT? Or are there other ways to do it. The $157.00 was holding me back. Was interested in it for one rifle.
