    I really enjoy 9MM 1911's and STI is probably as good as it gets without going custom. Dan Wesson is their only competition but I don't think they have a double stack carry option. I wouldn't be to concerned about quality with STI. They know their business.

    What's your budget? In my opinion, SOG used to produce a good product. I'm not a fan of what I have seen the last few years. I have looked a few pics/specs of the 2017 line and it looks like SOG might be stepping up their game. In the $75 to 175 range, I would look into ZT, Benchmade, Spyderco...
