I would second the notion of moisture causing primer failure. Before I switched to using a dehydrator to dry my brass, I used to see more primer failures that I think was due to very small amounts of moisture in the case base/flash hole that I did not notice during the loading process...
I have a 22" Bartlein M24 profile on my 6.5 Creedmoor. I chose to go with 22" so that when I attach my Ultra7 suppressor it isn't super long and difficult to maneuver. Weight wise I'm not sure it saves me much with the heavy barrel profile. I am getting 2760 fps with 42.0 gr H4350 behind...
A couple of guys I shoot with locally recently did this. Go to YouTube and look up Powder Drop Test Part 1 (I'm at work and can't share link easily). They compare Hornady, RCBS, Harrell's, A&D, and a Prometheus. I thought their methods were well thought out and provided some interesting...
I started my son at age 7 on a Rem 700 SPS tactical in 223. I replaced the factory stock with a Blackhawk Axiom stock. It worked really well for him and was able to grow along with him. The bonus was that once he grew out of that I had an action to build into something more interesting!
Titegroup works great for me in 9mm. You will cuss the occasional 380 case or Berdan primed case that slips through, but you will be able to feel this when it occurs. If it doesn't go easy, don't force it!
I have used a Vortex Razor HD II 1-6 for the past 3 seasons shooting 3 gun. For me the dot is daylight bright and works really well. The only down side is that the scope is built like a tank and is heavy. You can find 10% off codes from Optics Planet from some of the sponsored 3 gun shooters...
I rebarreled a Gen 1 that I traded for with a Proof barrel. Combined with Prime 130gr it is a tackdriver. The Timney RPR trigger was an excellent upgrade as well.
I have 533 through it so far. I have used Hornady 140gr ELD-M and the Prime 130gr HPBT. Both group about 1/2 MOA at 100yds. I have DOPE on the Prime out to 1400yds so far, and have been very pleased with it.
