    Tikka vs AI feeding “smoothness”

In comparison of my Tikka CTR in the stock with CTR mags versus the KRG Bravo stock/chassis with AI mags, I've noticed a bit smoother feeding in the Bravo-AI configuration. Some of that was chalked up to the alignment but the front of the mag on the CTR would also 'clip' the mouth of the case...

    Tikka T3 Thread

Ya, both 24” and with the same suppressor. I guess I’m going to try load development and see how high I can go before I hit pressure signs.

    Tikka T3 Thread

Just chrono’d my new CTR stainless 24” 6.5CM with a suppressor on. Shooting 140gr RDF at 2600ft/s with 41.7gr of RL-16. My previous CTR shot 2930ft/s, same barrel length except blued not stainless. Kind of pissed at how freaking slow this barrel is, and I only expect it to speed up maybe...

    Arcteryx Beta AR jacket

For mountaineering stuff, I’ve got the Patagonia R1, Arcteryx Atom LT, Cerium LT, and Alpha SV. Different combinations of that can cover anything. They’re stupidly priced, even after the 40% discounts I’ve gotten them all at. I wouldn’t use that stuff for shooting though, personally. Their...

    My 45* Magpul Bipod mod

I’d almost guarantee the metal backbone to the leg that he modified is just machined bar stock. You can see the machining marks on it as well.

Sub MOA Sniper AR10 dor around $1000 without optics?

The S&W M&P-10’s have been known to be sub MOA, and they offer 6.5CM. I think they come in around or under $1K. Personally I think full size cartridges in a semi-auto have way too many draw backs, particularly for long range.

Accessories [Purchased/Done] WTB: Kestrel 5700 (Ballistics or Elite)

Looking to buy Kestrel 5700 Ballistics or Elite, or Ballistics with firmware upgrade. Cosmetic blemishes okay. If Elite, Link capabilities would be highly preferred. Can do Venmo, or PayPal FnF or +3%.

Range Report Broken tips on Hornady 6.5 140 ELDMs

Could be a batch where the plastic used got screwed up and really brittle, either in curing or overheated at some point. FN had that issue with a batch of the FNX-45 except too squishy squishy.

Quick question on Kestrel (5700) and Bushnell Elite 1 Mile Arc ConX communication

Great, thanks. That’s exactly what I was looking for.

Quick question on Kestrel (5700) and Bushnell Elite 1 Mile Arc ConX communication

I wanted to have the kestrel’s ballistic calculator take the LRF range input and be able to read the dope off the kestrel. Are you saying the only way is to read off the LRF that only reads the non-wind measurements off the kestrel? It uses the LRF calculator and not the Kestrels?

Quick question on Kestrel (5700) and Bushnell Elite 1 Mile Arc ConX communication

Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question. I have a Bushnell Elite 1 Mile Arc ConX (sheesh what a mouthful) that I got on sale a while ago. It feeds into the phone app fine but I don’t want to use my phone for ballistics, the Bushnell software is garbage, and I shoot at elevations between 5.5k’ and...

what are you guys using for tough tactical combat pants?

Kind of a hipster brand, but Fjallraven Vidda Pro's have been great for some of the mountaineering I've done. Breathable, durable, and fit better than any other pants I've tried.

HOW ARE YOU GUYS GETTING SINGLE DIGIT ES????

A velocity ES of 30ft/s (which is relatively large) on a decent 6.5CM will a vertical spread (diameter) of < 5" at 1000yds. I don't think that's too bad. Even a 0.25% error on the chrono is 7.5ft/s...

6.5x47 Lapua, Berger 130 Seating issues. Need Opinions, and Help

Shake the original loaded bullets; powder moving? Same for new? Shake/tap the cases after powder but before seating to settle any powder. Make sure you’re not confusing bullets (130 vs 140gr). But it sounds like an improperly setup die or wrong shell holder #.

Once fired brass is no where near chamber length....do i need to trim at all?

Your variance in once fired may come from various stretching of the brass or primer cratering/seating depth from different pressures during load development. My experience is that the brass actually shrinks the first 2-3 firings if you’re neck sizing because the expansion of the case diameter to...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I had some of that (more so with the T3 than the CTR) but it was user error for me; the magazine wasn't always seated properly. You need to press in on the front and back and really get it to latch in. Sometimes the rounds would feed but smack into the top if the rear wasn't seated or it would...

    Tikka T3 Thread

No, it's not a bluing, which is odd. The T3 that I had before the CTR had just stainless but this appears to be a teflon coating put ontop of the stainless bolt to make it easier to cycle. I'll try to get a picture of it some point later on when I got time.

    Tikka T3 Thread

Anyone else experienced some of the coating wearing away on the rear-face of the bolt lugs for the CTR? Only concerned that the coating may be enough thickness that as it wears away it could change the headspace. Roughly ~800 rounds through the rifle. Should I just keep it lubed and not worry...
