They do it now for table 2, so no. There is plans to redo many Qual ranges to use electronic targets and go away from obsolete hand pulled carriages. And most pistol ranges are good to shoot most rifle DODICs as well, though certainly not all of them.
They all can shoot at those ranges now. Or, have suitable short range bays nearby. They do not learn irons at boot camp, only SOI. Yep! Personal or issue. Glad MarinePMI included this, it shows there is a huge hunger for improvement not supported at large by the Corps. Considering most...
Except no one really ever does grass week and firing week isn't full, it's just a really inefficient way to shoot ~300 rds. ARQ is not for training (in theory) but for evaluation. It is much harder than Tables 1/2. There will be significant pushback when 80% are no longer 'experts.'
I've used Tennessee Arms for years for competitions. No issus. They are beefier than aluminum and have brass inserts for the receiver extension, grip screw, etc. I can see how all plastic ones would be weaker in those areas, but no issues so far with the TN Arms.
Currently doing a cash out on one and straight refi on another house 2.85%. Don't be afraid to shop around, big companies aren't willing to compete with smaller ones and a mortgage really doesn't matter who has it.
I have 3 Tennessee Arms lowers for some lightweight builds. Metal reinforced sections on high stress points, lighter than aluminum and durable so far. Took one on the SAC twice, no issues. Looking to get an AR10 sized for a lightweight hunter build,
I run the Nomad 2 with a gunbearer so the rifle is right against the frame, with bag behind it. Very comfortable, and if you want to run the gunbearer on the side, you can change it in the field. The gunbearer is a good piece of kit.
After a few successful matches under our belts, Santa Margarita Gun Club will be hosting a combined Practical Precision Rifle and Carbine match. 8 stages, approximately 60 for precision guns or 100 for carbines, plus ~60 for pistol. Bring extra. Each stage will have both PPR and carbine...
Very happy with my Sturdy. Moving it is a pain, but easier being able to take the door off. I would buy another if I probably wasn't in the market for a vault door first,
Don't waste time on irons. Expert is super easy. If anything, eye relief on the RCO and proper holds on un-freefloated barrel are most difficult. Also flexibility for table 1 positions. If you want a cool present, get an identical lower with his boot camp serial made.
Money. M7s are refurbished old ones and the upgrade was rolled into long term maintenance programs. SDO reticle I believe is not correct for 14.5" barrels. The LPVO will replace both in the next few years ... supposedly. Just don't ask where the reticle lines up with M855A1; broke some...
These are the M7, been on the street for about 2 years. It's one common optic for M4s, M16s and now IARs with M855. The horseshoe is better, as is the zeroing instructions etched in the side. A LPVO will replace the M7 on infantry guns once selected.
You had to start with all your gear. Both my partner and I ran Hill People Gear Kit bags and just put them in the pack between stages. Worked well. It would work fine for the weight, just not a good place to put the gun besides under the lid. What happens when the frame snaps in the cold?
