Issues bumping back the shoulder on brass

Thanks. I am going to start looking at the Annealez 3.0. Seems like one of the best budget annealers. Any other suggestions?

No, I do not anneal. Based on the responses, it appears I need to look into that

Issues bumping back the shoulder on brass

I ran into a strange situation today and wanted to get feedback from the horde on what could be causing the issue. Here's the situation. I am working on a load for my 6.5 Grendel. This is what happened. I started with 50, four time fired Hornady cases. All the cases were fired from the same AR...

Large variance in Federal SPP 45 acp brass weight

I was loading some 45 acp brass and decided to weigh a few just to ensure the AP was not overthrowing powder. When I noticed several bullets were over 7 grains difference. Thinking I had double charged the rounds, I broke down 10 rounds (5 "high" and 5 "low"). The bullets and powder was all...

Repurposing a full length body die

I have a set of Hornady Match Grade dies for .308 that I know longer use. If I remove the pin/innards from the FL sizer, will be still bump the shoulders without effecting the neck? (I have a collet die for neck sizing).

    New 308 die set

I’m planning to upgrade my die set. I currently use the Hornady Custom Grade dies. They were my first set and I have loaded some decent rounds, getting around .75 MOA out of my .308 Ruger Precision. I am considering the Redding Competition Pro Series or a created set with a Forster Bushing Bump...

    Frankford Intellidropper - Quick review

May as well keep it flowing here. Since my initial review I’ve run about 200 more drops. I’ve had Zero issues with drift or overcharging.

    Frankford Intellidropper - Quick review

I only experienced drift once, maybe twice. I left it warm up for over 30 minutes (had to go fire up the smoker), dropped approximately 55 charges, had to check the smoker again, machine set for 10-15 minutes, went right back and keep going. On a side note, the app works better than I...

    Frankford Intellidropper - Quick review

BLUF: I believe this is a worthy addition to anyone’s loading bench. I picked up a Frankford Intellidrop over the weekend. I have been using a Hornady GS-1500 and Lee Precision beam scale for the past 18 months and loaded a ton of .308 and 6.5 Grendel rounds. I decided to step up my scale as...

Seeing FPS differences based on how powder was dropped

As the title says, I am trying to figure out a velocity issue I am experiencing. Twenty rounds loaded with 44gr of Varget in FGMM once fired cases. So here's the deal, I loaded 20 rounds, with one difference: (a) 10 rounds were loaded using a simple funnel (RCBS cup/funnel) to dump to charges...

Left to right movement in my Rockchucker handle

Hi Horde. Here’s my issue. I have a decades old RCBS Rockchucker 2. When the press is in the up position, there is significant play in the handle. With little to no effort, the handle moves approximately .5” left or right. This movement is translated into the ram/shell holder, as they move as...
