    Great service from RCBS

Just want to give a shout out for RCBS great service. I busted 2 decapping units from 2 different dies over the weekend. Called RCBS and they're sending replacements, FREE. No fuss, no questions, no snide remarks of my reloading incompetence. The last time this happened to me with a...

Gunsmithing Devcon in the lug recess area

Quick follow up to say again, thanks for all your help. I soaked it overnight in Kroil. Then used a bronze circular brush with a flexible Dremel. That took out all the stuck Devcon that I could see and a bit of the bluing too. Took it out over the weekend and still have all my fingers.

Gunsmithing Devcon in the lug recess area

Thanks for your insights and suggestions. I have the chamber soaking in Kroil. Tomorrow, I will heat it with an iron. I may be able to fit a flexible Dremel brass brush in there. If I can, I will try that. Will post the results shortly.

Gunsmithing Devcon in the lug recess area

In bedding my rifle, I forgot to plug the front guard screw hole. Needless to say, I got Devcon inside the lug recess area. I managed to get most of the stuff out before it dried. But there's a splotch of it. I can see and feel it. It feels rough. The bolt closes without any problems...

RCBS, Dillon and Forester customer service

Recently, I needed some replacement parts for various RCBS items. Among many parts included the Rockchucker ram rod. In fact, I nicked the die nut in removing it to check the Rockchucker manufacture date. I asked and they replace that also. No problems, no hassle. I just called and told...

Rifle Scopes best scope for budget build!!!!!!!!! Please help

Re: best scope for budget build!!!!!!!!! Please help I have a few SS 16x and am quite pleased with it. Although if you can swing the extra cash, an IOR 16x will knock your socks off.

Re: Anyone know of anyone else making scope bikinis? I have an IOR scope with a very long sunshade, 22" length. I gave him the dimensions of the objective and eyepiece. I got the custom cover within a week. Fits nicely. I am very satisfied with it...

Rifle Scopes IOR outstanding customer service

I needed to replace the turret screws on an older 4-14x50. I was in Denver and was a bit stressed for time. Scott, of IOR, met me in the morning on his way to work to give me the screws. And the screws were free. Now, that's great customer service. I have 2 IOR scopes already and will...

Tubb 2000 final bore polishing system

Re: Tubb 2000 final bore polishing system I like it a lot for my new rifles with factory barrels, including 22lr. It did tighten the group a bit initially. But the groups continued to tighten thereafter. Could be the Tubbs or could have been finding better loads.

.308 hand load for FN SPR

Re: .308 hand load for FN SPR Update on loads for my 308 FNH PBR w/ 20" fluted barrel. Loaded 175SMK, 43.1gr RL15, CCI #34 primer and LC LR brass, it goes subsonic between 800 to 900 yards. But bump the charge up to 44.3gr RL15, it stays supersonic to 1000 yards. Didn't see any signs...

    FN PBR

Re: FN PBR I bought the Hogue Overmolded with the full length aluminum block when CDNN still had them. I am extremely happy with it. With a 20" barrel, the light stock makes the rifle feel like 22, not at all unwieldy. And the rifle shoots well out to 600+ yards, within 1 moa. Although...

    308 FN action questions

Re: 308 FN action questions I have a CDNN 308 FNH PBR xp barreled action, 20" barrel. The stock is a Hogue Overmolded with a full length aluminum block, from CDNN when they still had it. Up to 600 and it has been extremely accurate. Using reloads, loaded to M118 specs, it was going...

    Rifle Scopes SWFA: Customer Service

Re: SWFA: Customer Service Chris, The shipping charge was credited to me? I thought I was getting a refund check. My mistake. But most impressive, you've found my account on the following day without being asked; you're actively monitoring customer satisfaction. And better yet, thank...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell elite 10x or SS 10x?

Re: Bushnell elite 10x or SS 10x? I have all 3 of the SS (10x, 16x and 20x) and the Bushnell 10x. I like the SS 16x the best. Good magnification without the distortion (if that is the correct term) of the 20x. I don't especially care for the 10x's. The magnification is a bit low for me...

.308 hand load for FN SPR

Re: .308 hand load for FN SPR I've got a FNH PBR xp with a 20" barrel. The one from CDNN. With the shorter barrel, it tends to do better with slightly faster powder. Mine does well with 40.8gr of WC844F, 175SMKs, CCI #34 primers and LC brass. Your mileage may differ.

    Rifle Scopes SWFA: Customer Service

Re: SWFA: Customer Service A while back I bought a used SS; changed my mind and wanted to exchange it for a new one. They said that I could just send the old scope back and the additional cost difference. They would pay for the return postage, but I would need to pay for the total...

    .223 - 5.56

Re: Loads for .223- 5.56 Two loads that I've found that shoots well in both my 26" Savage 12BVSS and 20" Heavy Barrel AR. Both 1:9 twist. 55gr Hornady FMJBT, LC brass and Wolf small rifle primer (non-mag). WC844 (H332) 26gr WC846 (BL-C2) 25.5gr The 844 is more accurate than the 846...

Re: Loads For .308 Winchester RL15 44.5gr, 175 SMK, LC LR brass and CCI military primer. Varget 45.0gr, 175 SMK, LC LR brass and CCI military primer. I use both these loads for 1000 yards and both remain supersonic. 44.0gr RL15 also remains supersonic. The RL15 seems to be a bit more...

    .300wm - .300wsm

Re: Loads for .300WM-.300WSM 300WSM load for my CDNN FNH PBR. 68.5gr AA3100, CCI military primer and Winchester case. I've found that this load works better than any loads I've tried with H4350 or H4831sc with 175SMK. I can get about 0.5 inch at 100 yards. I can only get 3 shots...
