Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

I just pick up one of the last production models of the series. fn spr a5m xp. It is a fine rifle. With the heavy threaded barrel and A5 stock, It is a tank of a gun. The bottom metal is steel. I wish I could fine a 10 round magazine for it. No luck so far. Plenty of 5 rounders everywhere. This...

    .308 Winchester

I am not sure what it was. Maybe the BC was lower than the Lapua, but I could never get them to group to my liking. I have been shooting 155's for a LONG time. still do. the Berger 155.5 is a hammer when driven hard. The Lapua was my go to for years. shooting 155's separates the wheat from the...

Rifle Scopes Anyone Using A March Scope

I purchased a March 5-40x56 for use in FT-R competition. I was sold on the MOA reticle at first sight. I like the fine pinpoint dot and open middle. The parallax is amazing. Clarity is great. And the weight is a plus. The turrets are what you would expect in this level of optic. I too own NF in...

    Rifle Scopes Parallax question

If your check weld is perfectly aligned in the same position for both groups you should see no variation. Parallax is where inconsistent check weld shows up. Please correct me if I have misspoken. Rob

    McMillan A-3

I have two of these stocks. Neither has adjustable cheek hardware. I prefer a padded stock pack to get he weld I want. I have smaller hands and it fits me well. I had a GAP with a Manners stock, it was too much of a palm swell for me. The A-3 is a lightweight stock with no butthook. I prefer the...

F T/R Competition How many are using prepped lc brass for 308 ftr?

I shot FTR for 2 years with LC LR brass and 155's. the brass was good. I could get approx 5-6 firings and then Istarted to get neck splits. I did not anneal. It will get brittle from work hardening faster than commercial brass. I only shot 155's. I can't speak for heavier bullets. Rob

    Brass weight sorting

I would agree it is a waste of time to shoot steel and close range work. If you are shooting 1000 yards for score and cannot see a difference, you have other issues. Rob

    Remington 700 tac 223 opinions

My .223 AAC 16.5" is a solid MOA or less gun. And that is shooting 60gr Nosler's loaded on a 1050 Dillon with some cheap bulk brass. With 69 smk's it will bughole. This gun is suppressed 100% of the time. and still has the Tupperware stock. I have not tried it past 300yds. YMMV-Rob

    Brass weight sorting

I did 600 once and the bell curve always looks the same. Imagine all that brass mixed up,and loaded properly with your best load. Then you just happen to fire the lightest piece and the heaviest piece consecutively. You would be wondering where that vertical came from, and adjust your setting...
