I have one on a 338LM also and works very well. In the field I am not forced to use ear plugs. Just a hat when in a hurry.

The pelt is worth money if you shoot them in the head. You should be able to find a local trapper if you do not want to mess with pelt. The trapper will want head shots and winter coat.

A used 5R 308 should not be that hard to find. See them in the for sale area often enough.
