Rifle Scopes Swarovski Z6i long range scopes, anyone?

Re: Swarovski Z6i long range scopes, anyone? I test-fired the Z6 5-30x50P recently and I think it is (arguably) the very best scope i ever laid hands on. My only critic concerns the skyhigh price.

    Harrell's Powder Measure

Re: Harrell's Powder Measure I own 7 powder measures (1 Harrell's, 1 RCBS, 2 Bonanza, 2 Lyman 55 and 1 Dillon), but only 2 get used nowadays, the Dillon (part of my XL 650 press) and the Harrell's which replaces all others. Enough said... BTW, I deal with static electricity by washing the...

    Rifle Scopes Nikon tactical

Re: Nikon tactical Same thing just happened to me. I returned a Nikon Monarch 6-20x44 AO which showed a wandering zero and tracking problems and got back the new Monarch 5-20x44 with side parallax turret. A good deal indeed !

    Atlas with AI spigot

Re: Atlas with AI spigot You've just burst my bubble... I have a Versa-Pod + their AICS spigot and my reproachs are just the same : too much play in the spigot. OTOH, I'm fond of my Accu-Shot monopod and had come to believe that the panacea was the Atlas combo, which I was about to order...

Rifle Scopes Superlative new Z6 Swarovski 5-30x50P i

Re: Superlative new Z6 Swarovski 5-30x50P i Bob, you're absolutely right. As per today, Swarovski has no intention of entering the tactical market (NB : years ago, they pulled out...) and presents the Z6 line as long range hunting scopes. I'll confess I'm no tactical shooter neither, but an...

Rifle Scopes Superlative new Z6 Swarovski 5-30x50P i

Re: Superlative new Z6 Swarovski 5-30x50P i Come on with your commentary guys, this is the kind of reactions I intended to provoke and, trust me, your remarks will be relayed to Swarovski. I can add some info right now, though : -turrets : this scope is in hunting mode but I see no problems...

Rifle Scopes Superlative new Z6 Swarovski 5-30x50P i

Swarovski lent me its top of the line Z6 5-30x50 P to test. I mounted it on my .308 Win AICS Rem 700 and shot 4x5 shot groups from the bipod at 100 m and all were < 1,5 cm (.59 MOA). I intend to do better next time as I will shoot from my (more stable) benchrest tripod. Compared to cheaper...

    Gunsmithing X Mark Pro Trigger

Re: X Mark Pro Trigger You may have something there. My trigger got heavier twice (varnish on screws intact) without reason. I cleaned out the trigger and the adjustment hasn't changed through several hundred rounds since.

    Gunsmithing X Mark Pro Trigger

Re: X Mark Pro Trigger I adjusted this trigger 3 times to the weight I liked. Twice, it got heavier on its own and without reason (the nail polish I locked the screws with was still intact !?! ). Since my third trial and 600+ rounds later, my trigger remained OK but I still don't understand...

Having bolted on most available accessories on my AICS Rem 700 in .308 Win, I found it got heavy. Then I weighted it and the scale read 15.9 lbs How much weights yours ?

    Accuracy International Pics

Re: Accuracy International Pics I finally stopped resisting and gave up the fight. I bought an AICS stock for my 700 P. Now the question is ; to bipod or not ? I'm not familiar with these and tend to trust benchrest tripods for best accuracy. Your advice is welcome, thanks in advance.

    Gunsmithing Lothar walther barrels???

Re: Lothar walther barrels??? I had this shot out .22-250 Ruger VT rebarreled in .308 Win, using a Lothar Walther SS Match bbl. It's actually my most accurate rifle. It averages 5 shots in < .25 MOA and regularly shoots some groups in .10-.15 MOA. Since then, I've added 2 more LW bbls ...
