Currently running 8208 but have run, Varget, Benchmark, and IMR 3031 with great results as well. I am seeing better velocity with lower ES using the 8208

Since you already have a .308 sized bolt, why not go with a 22-250 and run the 77 -80 grn class bullets in a 7.5 twist. H-414 can be found here and there, plus it will still get you to 1K

I have skimmed through this thread as I use this method and didn't see anything about QL / Powder calibration. Don't forget, you have to calibrate QL to your "chronographed powder charge". It doesn't matter what charge you chronograph as long as all components are the same when you go to work...

Target 1 = group 13. Target 2 = group 13. Target 3 = group 6 POI is the same on the fore and aft group in each case and the groups are small to boot.

I am running the 155 Scenars and 43.6 grains of 8208, it's piling them in on top of each other. After 200 or so rounds, when I am sure the barrel is broken in I will move up in charge weight. That way I know my speeds and dope won't change. Thanks for that bit of knowledge Joe and Benjie

First question, 20+10= 30 Second question, at what distance do you plan to zero your scope. If you plan on 100 yards, what is total elevation travel on your particular scope. Divide that in half, and if it is greater than 30, you might be OK.

When suppressor is attached will you be running sub-sonic rounds or 200 grn class bullets. Reason I am asking is that cartridge carries a lot of powder for a short barrel and a suppressor. I think for an 06, the shortest I would go would be in the 22"-24" range in order to avoid pre-mature...
