I have carried a S&W j frame 642 for the past 4 or 5 years. It's a great carry gun, 1 pound loaded exactly, small, easy to conceal and comfortable. I only stopped carrying it about a month ago in favor of my new m&p shield. George
I have been very happy with my M&Ps. They run between $500 and $550 where I am. Great guns, reliable, accurate enough for defensive or competition use. If your friend is going for concealment a compact or Sheild would work great. Ergonomics work for just about everybody. Though personally not a...
Hope you have big hands. I haven't seen one in any shops yet, but I held one at SHOT in January. They are very large, I don't have small hands and I found it a bit too big. But my opinion may be biased, I am not a fan of Sigs. They shoot and function just fine I just don't like the way they...
10-8 performance makes a good rear sight. I like to run fiber optic fronts on my pistols, take your pick on brand. Other than sights I think the shield is pretty good out of the box. Though I would like it if APEX would make a aluminum trigger for it. George
I have not seen or used a set of these yet, but the hogue magwell grips seem to work well. The same principle, for $30 I would not hesitate to try them if you think you would like them. Just remember you get what you pay for, buy once, cry once. I like S&A magwells with aggressively textured...
I run a set of Knights armament 45° flip ups on my .308, I like them a lot. I like the flip capability for storage and cases, but I've also used the Dueck Defense sights and I like those too. The XS sights don't look to bad either though I have not used a set so I can not offer an opinion on...
I picked up two shields last week in 9mm. I shot one when they were first released, but forgot how soft they shot. I was shocked today, once again, these guns shoot great for such a small package. POI/POA at 7-10 yards, ran flawlessly with about 100 rounds through each of them. I have heard a...
I have a HK45 with a LEM trigger, it is a great gun that has not let me down yet. I shot USPSA limited 10 with it last year without a hiccup. I do not like HKs da/sa triggers though, LEM is the way to go. Though I personally do not like Sigs, the p220 is an option with a good track record...
I have carried a S&W j frame for 5 or 6 years now every day. I can be carried anywhere, waist, pocket, you name it. Weight is right at 1 pound loaded. Great carry gun. The M&P shield is another good choice, I just picked one up last week. It is no bigger than my jframe and only a few ounces...
It was a 24" SR25 match made in '94. I had the barrel cut to 16", updated the handguard and added a surefire break. I guess you could say its closer to a ECC. George
Not an ecr, but its a Knights and it shoots great. I have only had one problem, fte's due to a weak extractor spring. It runs any thing I feed it and will shoot sub moa groups all day. Good luck with your new rifle, George
I just mounted and zeroed my new NF 2.5-10x on Monday. I could not be happier with my choice. It's sitting on my 16" Knights, it's a perfect fit. I had a chance to compare to my buddy's sfp Vortex 2.5-10x, I was not impressed with the Vortex. Though when I had the chance to check out the Ffp...
I placed an order just last week, the discount was 5%. I called and ordered over the phone. Great guys to deal with. Ordered at noon, had my scope the next day. George
Re: Wotac optics - Review I recieved my scope back yesterday, STILL BROKEN, in the same packaging I sent. It was shipped to Wotac's PO box address listed on their website it was returned to me with a label from the post office saying 'unclaimed'. I have emailed and called Wotac with no...
Wotac scopes - a horrible product and horrible customer service to go with it. Just over a year ago I purchased a Wotac 4-14x50 (http://www.sightwonders.com/wotac-4-14x50-sfp-epb-reticle.html). It has been one of the worst experiences with a product and company I have ever had. I would not...
