Re: trigger pull Mine is set at 2 1/4 lbs with no take up, works great for me. If 3 seems heavy to you I would think anything between 2 and 2 1/2 would be a good starting point, you can always adjust it.

Re: Springfield Armory Scopes ? I've had 6-20x56 3rd gen on a 700p for a long time. Other than the glass not being as good as some of the high end scopes it has been very good to me. always repeats and very durable. But I can't speak to price as I rarely see one for sale.
