175 SMK 43.3 Varget Fed. 210m Lapua Brass Shoots around 2,550 fps. Also working on a load with rl-17 and 208 AMAX. I will post results as soon as I get them.
My vote goes to the Badger fte, but it does require extra machining. So if your looking for something that needs little work I would go with JP enterprises bennie cooley tactical muzzle brake.
I have a 4 groove chambered in 300WSM. I like it and can't complain about the velocity it produces. I'm pushing a 215 Berger Hybrid at 3050 fps. That said I'm not sure that there is any real difference in the performance of a 4 groove versus a 5r.
I have the FTE on both my 300 WSM and 280AI and it is great. It really takes the bite out of the WSM, it's more of a push than a punch. I'll throw some pictures up when I get a chance.
I'm interested as well. I have quite a few 208 grain amax bullets that I'm thinking about working with in my aac-sd. Im thinking about trying out some rl-17.
Go with a stevens 200 if you plan on upgrading the trigger, and only need an action. I have two builds based on the Stevens and have been happy with both. You can pick up a new Stevens 200 rifle for around $350 or find an action for aroun $250.
300 WSM 28" 4 groove barrel AMU contour 215 Berger Hybrid Remington Brass Fed 210M 64.0gr RL-17 3020 fps average velocity, .25 MOA. I absolutely love this combo, plus the 215 and 230 Bergers are still available if ya know where to look.

They built my 300 WSM, and I am currently having them build a 280 ackley. They do great work at a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate about using them, plus if any issues arise they are not to far from your location.
