If it is a one piece base you can drill and tap a hole between the back two mount screws and put a set screw to raise the back of the base where you want it then bed the base to the action.
I have 20 MOA and 30 MOA bases on my Savages with bull barrels and Vortex medium plus rings are 1" at center line from base and have no problem with a 56 mm scope bell.

I would go with at least a 20 MOA base with the PST if it is a 6-24 power it will only have 65MOA of adjustment in the turrent. Also what distances are you going to be shooting 600 yds or beyond 1000yds. I went with a 30 MOA base on my 243 with a 6-24 PST shooting 105 hybrids at 3160ft/sec. it...
I don't shoot a 6XC, but I do shoot a .243 with the 105 Hybrids. I would have to say the 6MM's shooting this bullet have an advantage over any of the guns that are not shooting bullets that are up in the heavier weight range for that caliber.

Only about four people there Saturday along with a lot of wind. You guys missed out on Wade taking his new muzzleloader out to 500 yds on the steel. Would have gotten to 600 but plate was down.
