I've been a fan of Timney but I went by their booth at SHOT and tried most of the two-stage triggers they had there. They were all creepy on the second stage. I asked the guy about it and he just kind of shrugged his shoulders. I'm definitely up in the air about them now.

Kind of have to agree with this. I've only owned one NF, 8-32 NXS. I like the Nightforce brand and I think they make good scopes. But functionally for dynamic shooting SFP is kind of dumb. Unless you're always at the calibrated power setting, you will chase your tail trying to dial adjustments...

I have an old beater mosin, no mods. Shot a few rounds of PPU through it at about 1810 yards with the iron sights on 17, I was very surprised that they were impacting where they should have been. It convinced me that these rifles are a credible threat with minimal investment.

I've played with 178, 190, 175 smk but not with the Ls. You should be able to get 175s to 2600 or so...maybe out to 900 yds depending on altitude?

My r700 1:12 got 175s to 800 & 900 no problem but they weren't flying right by 1000, apparently trans sonic. MV was around 2650 close to sea level. On the other hand 178s did great at 1000 in my 1:12. And 190s. And next month I'm trying 208s.
