Vacation starts tomorrow so I decided to take an extra day and have it start today.

It was a fine time to take out the vintage and do a study ala the masters. This should be done in fine oils......

Sadly the gear looked better than the groups

    Hornady M1 168 AMAX factory

Tightened up some with some fouling and 168 Nosler CC over RL 19 @ 57 grns

Better still with more rounds and 168 Nosler CC over 46.5 of Varget

    Continued..........

I hadnt shot the rifle in close to a year I decided to ditch the loop sling and go to the pack support. Ive been doing much more of that type shooting lately...

Yes the same guy that shot the 8 almost touching sucks enough to put two low. More 46.5 Varget, 168 CC in LC 69 2X.....

But my a gunner wanted some action........

    Shooting outside before....

    After....

Standard steel BB's once fired from a fresh Daisy barrel that was properly broken in through the fire one, clean one method of thought.

Cool pics. I have 2 Red Ryders I shot, one in WY and one in NC. Anyone that thinks that they are inferior to what we had in my time, the 1960s, has not tried one recently. The new ones are more accuarate and more potent. Never mind they are made in China either. They are pretty amazing and good practice. Last time in WY, one of my favorite afternoon occupations was shooting ants, yes ants, and often at 10-20 yds. In fact I shoot any insect moving including flying insects. It is amazing how often I hit them or hit very close. Spinning a can is a no brainer, even hitting the hole for drinking. I still use the copper BBs. I hope they are still available but I had bought a hoard which is wearing down.
