I am finishing my .260 load development. Surgeon 591, 26" Krieger chambered by Terry Cross and assembled by Randy at R&D. My load is:

R-P Brass
139g Scenar seated 2.805 OAL
H4350 Powder

I ran CCI BR2's thru my load work-up, but wanted to see if there was a measurable difference between Fed 210m primers. ES and SD's were nearly identical. No discerable difference in accuracy. 210M's gave me 11-13 fps more velocity at 4000 feet asl.

Loads:

42.8g 210M Avg. 2903 fps
42.8g BR2 Avg. 2892

43.5g 210M Avg. 2924
43.5g BR2 Avg. 2911

I agree. Rifle was shooting 2850 fps during break-in at 70-80 degrees. Now its shooting 2900 fps at 85-90 degrees. RL 17 had the 139's flying at nearly 3000 fps.

Im using ADI2209 43.5 grains with cci lr primers and am getting 2850fps at sea level 70f with 130 norma .

Re: .260 Primer Test

It truly amazes me how velocities differ in barrels. I run 43.4g H4350, BR2, 139scenar, win 7-08 brass + 24" benchmark 3-groove = 2825fps.

85 degrees 1400 ASL.

Re: .260 Primer Test

I like WLR's, I can tell my brass from others easier.

I dicked around with different primers and I'm comfortable enough with my limitations to tell you I can't shoot the difference. I think consistent brass handling is the key once you find a load your barrel likes.

I get 2850fps with 42.0grs H4350(139 scenar) through a 26" 1-8" Schneider. 8 firings on the same lot of Norma brass....I use Wolf LR mag primers FWIW. Same velocity with Fed 210M's..
