Lapua 243 was historically the best bang for the buck. Now that it's risen to basically the same price as Norma / Nosler 260 Remington, is that still the case?

I use factory Remington ran through a neck sizer with expander ball, and it works great. I like the Nosler brass as well, though I have not used it on my 260. Once you fire form the case to your chamber, the brass seems to be more consistant when seating bullets after neck only sizing. For the cost vs. quality, Rem gets my vote.

I use Remington brass. Full length sized every time with standard Redding dies. Ive loaded 100 cases 7 or 8 times and another 100 6 or 7 times with only a few of the primer pockets getting loose. I do have to trim them about every 3rd or 4th loading. My rifle dont like long cases. Thas the only prob I have with R-P brass.

I'd say go ahead and shoot Remington because it works fine, cost effective and it's what I use exclusively....but I don't want you nibbling the already dwindling stocks in the Denver/Springs area. Keep paying out the ass please

My experience with Nosler brass is not good. Two firings and primer pockets are done for.loads were mild sierra recommended loads in the 2600 fps range ,so I cannot recommend Nosler for 260 shooters.not worth it for what it costs.its great in 308 though.

I've tried several and my take is this.
Lapua 243 Necked up forms an instant donut and needs to be inside neck reamed and outside neck turned. Shows pressure spikes due to the donut. The 308 Brass is the way I'd go if I wanted to run Lapua. Neck down with a standard 260 neck die and expand back up to 260 once. Should be GTG after that.
Remington 7/08 Brass, just neck it down and run with it. Gives good accuracy but if not lotted by weight and neck turned it shows too much vertical at longer distances (600 yards +)

Never tried the 7/08 WW Brass but it may be good stuff, I think TC runs it in his 260.

I have to run 1 grain less powder in Nosler Brass than I do with the RP Hulls. 130 Bergers are 2,950 fps and 139 Scenars are 2,920 fps with 43.5 grains of H4350 and CCIBR2 Primers. Yes, same load for both bullets.

Im not sure what went wrong, but my Nosler only went two firings before primers started flying out of them. The load Im shooting has been fired through RP and Nosler Brass with no problems at all. Although like I said 2 firings only on the Nosler???? Not sure why?

I went out recently and fired new prepped remington brass, new unprepped rem. brass, and nosler brass. I had never fired nosler before. I loaded all brass with my standard load (42 H4350, 210m, 139 scenar @ 2.820). All three 5 shot groups measured under 3/8's. The only thing I noticed was the Nosler showed pressure signs on shots 4 and 5. It gave me some vertical stringing. I have never had any sort of pressure sign with 42 grains of H4350.
In the end the test showed me that I can continue being lazy and cheap. If the Nosler didn't have the pressure signs the group "probably" would of been a sub .20 group.

Just so you guys know the Nosler brass is made by Norma. Norma makes brass for a lot of people. I'm not saying that Nosler doesn't have their own spec but simply that it's made by Norma.

After 3 firings as 243 the primer pockets are so tight it's a pain in the arse to seat them with the RCBS universal primer. I use the Sinclair primer pocket uniformer each loading. As for Nosler brass I shoot a ton of it and the primer pockets are the first to go and as far as who makes it when I see it in black and white on the Nosler site we will know for sure. In like calibers the closest brass in weight and softness I've seen is Federal. On average it's one of the heaviest in 308 case offerings. 20 grs heavier than Winchester, 10 heavier than RP, and 10 heavier than Norma. Withing 1 gr of the average weight of Federal brass. I can't see someone running an entirely different set up to run someone else's brass, but I have seen crazier things.

I'm getting good accuracy with the rp brass in both my bolt and gas gun, however the gas gun shooting 42.5grains of h4350 is too hot. I got a few blown primers, and the primer pockets were way too loose after one firing. The bolt gun is taking the 42.5grains like a champ with no pressure signs, and the primer pockets seems to be holding up. However, I don't think it was last more then 4 or 5 firings. Brass seems as soft as the fgmm brass.

Out of the 300 cases I have been using, I have loaded some 4X, and so far, no primer pockets have gotten so loose that the cases are unusable, and no cracked necks. I think I'm going to save up all the cases after the current batch of ammo that is loaded up has been fired, and anneal the necks though.
I deburr the primer pockets, and all the Winchester primer pockets are already so deep that I don't want to cut them any deeper, lest I risk light primer strikes. Out of 300 cases, only one had a primer too deeply seated to fire...discarded it.
As long as I pay attention to runout of loaded rounds, accuracy is just fine. Half MOA isn't any problem out of the rifle I'm running.
