Re: 260 Remington brass - Norma / Nosler -vs- Lapua
I'm using the Winchester 7mm-08 necked down. It is a really simple procedure to neck it down (once I figured out to remove the expander ball for the necking down). Out of the 300 cases I have been using, I have loaded some 4X, and so far, no primer pockets have gotten so loose that the cases are unusable, and no cracked necks. I think I'm going to save up all the cases after the current batch of ammo that is loaded up has been fired, and anneal the necks though.
I deburr the primer pockets, and all the Winchester primer pockets are already so deep that I don't want to cut them any deeper, lest I risk light primer strikes. Out of 300 cases, only one had a primer too deeply seated to fire...discarded it.
As long as I pay attention to runout of loaded rounds, accuracy is just fine. Half MOA isn't any problem out of the rifle I'm running.
Defiance machine defender action
Obermeyer 27 inch 5R barrel
RWS muzzle brake
Manners stock
Badger bottom metal
Rifle basix trigger
The rifle outshoots me pretty easily.
