Re-barreling a Remington 700 in 30-06. Shooting 168's in a 1-10 twist. Planning on a 24' length. Any advantage to going longer or shorter?

THX!

Here are my ballistics showing my 24" 30-06 Shooting Berger vld hunting rounds over h4350. 24 inches is plenty.

It's velocity. 25 fps per inch is a pretty good rule of thumb.

For hunting rifles where the shots aren't going to exceed 400-500yd, I'm cutting mine back shorter and shorter. 16-18" does everything I need.
I'd like to go 22 or 20 when I rebarrel. Having said that, I do shoot 600+ here in Wyoming . I ordered an Ultra 5 suppressor which will help some. Been looking rebarreling to the 280 Ackley to see if I can make up the difference of a shorter barrel there.
