Budget build 308 Hunter.
Not truly "precision" AR, but holds ~1moa w/Hornady 165 Interlocks at 2625fps.
PSA (gasp!!) stainless 16" mid length
-RRA NM trigger (tuned a bit)
-Syrac G2 adj gas block
-GunTec Mlok
-Magpul ACS-L (for my tactical snacks)
-BRT Covert Comp (linear brake for putting all the bark down range)
-US Optics SR8C w/RWF 3 Gun reticle (BDC tracks w/in 1/2moa to 600yds with above mentioned load)
-roll of tape and krylon

Down the line it will get a JP high pressure bolt and a quality barrel.

This is my first precision build. I've moved quickly to a bolt rifle. Or soon to be. I just received 200 rounds of Federal Sierra Matchking to take out beyond 100. I assume I'll be collecting this brass and reloading as I'm going to start w/ the bolt gun in 6.5. I'll try and report back some groups at distance.

Finally finished this build. PSA Gen I lower w/ Geissele SSA-E and Strike Ind. flat wound AR10 buffer spring. PSA Gen II upper 18" SS. PA 4-14 ACSS reticle on Aero Precision mount. Magpul Pro BUIS.

The groups were using 175 gr. Federal Sierra Matchking. 90 total rounds in 90 minutes. Zero malfunctions. Extremely happy.

Here is my most recent build:

- Aero M5 upper and lower, Cerakoted a custom mix of burnt bronze and midnight bronze.
- Troy 15" MLok rail, Cerakoted burnt bronze.
- 20" Ballistic advantage 6.5 CM barrel.
- Brownells NiB BCG (looks alot like a Toolcraft BCG).
- Geissele SSA-E trigger with a yellow JP trigger spring (nice, crisp 2.5lb break).
- Bushnell 4.5-18x44 LRTS in an ADM Recon mount.
- Stock has been switched to a FDE SOPMOD with an LMT/Ergo grip.

I will be adding a Surefire SOCOM muzzle brake so that I can mount my can, as well as a Geissele Super Charging handle and upgrading to a Geissele Super Precision SR-25 20-MOA mount in the very near future.

I love the look and feel of this beauty. I'll be taking it to the range this weekend for the first time...can't wait.

looking at a M5 receiver set from aero to start my bulid! anything i should know about this receiver it seems to be cheap for the quality... found it for 219 on snakeriverarmory.net ?also uncle moak love that rifle thats what im going for where did u get the stainless can?

If you are going to go with the Aero, get their lpk to finish it out. They will work with DPMS pins and such from a functionality standpoint but their overall widths are different so they won’t look right. Overall though the Aero stuff is top notch.

Recently finished a 6.5 Creedmoor build using the Aero lower and upper receivers, used their LPK. Everything fit tight and assembly was easy.

Who doesn't like a handsome big block gas gun that weighs in at what most small block 5.56 guns weighed just a decade ago? This 16" .308 sports a not-so-sveldt fluted Bartlein by Craddock Precision with an intermediate length (KAC) gas system with a full mass JP bolt carrier group (high pressure type) and a fairly heavy Magpul STR buttstock. Yet the rifle weighs in at just a few ounces over 8 pounds!

Interesting. Didnt know Zev did rifle stuff, how do you like those receivers Mr Wes?

It's my first big block with ZEV logo, used at the request of the customer. I was very pleasantly surprised that there were no surprises.

Pair of 6.5 Creedmoors...shooting like a dream

Wow, some awesome stuff here. I'll add my humble budget rifle and hope it doesn't stain the thread :)

Hello, new member here.

I have always wanted an AR10. I am mostly a curio and relic guy, but I love my modern stuff too. I have been collecting/shooting/reloading since 2012. I was a gym rat until back problems forced me to seek out an alternative hobby. It turns out that firearms were the answer to that issue...

This is a Palmetto PA10. I have been on disability since December due to my back issues so my funds are limited. I have had good luck with Palmetto in the past so I decided to take a chance on this. I told myself that I would be happy if it is a 1.5 MOA rifle at best.

This group was shot with an early load workup consisting of '87 LC brass, Factory seconds Sierra 168gr MK and 4064. I am still developing loads and working on the rifle, so groups should only improve. I have around 350 rounds through this and the only malfunction I've had was caused by my brass catcher.

When I shot this attached group, I still had the horrible mil spec trigger, a 15 dollar pawn shop scope sitting so low you could hardly scrunch down to get a sight picture, and of course the barrel is not free floated. It also had the Magnetospeed chrono on while shooting. Not bad for a budget rifle for someone who is in so much pain they can hardly sit still to shoot...

In the picture I have the new Vortex Diamondback 4-12 scope on and the riser which is temporary until I get the money to buy a proper handguard and gas block to free float this bad boy. Then I will get a proper mount/rings... I have also installed a RRA 2 stage match trigger which should really help my groups as well. This had a particularly bad and heavy milspec trigger when I got it.

I'm also getting a spinal fusion surgery so hopefully I'll be less gimpy soon!

Sorry for the long rant.... Now to the pics.

Specs:
Palmetto Gen 2 PA10 (535 bucks shipped!)
18" Stainless 1:10
RRA 2 stage match trigger
Ebay special muzzle brake
Ebay special grip
Monstrum tactical riser
UTG cheap-o rings
Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 scope
