6.5 "Shorty" Rifle build

Can a 6 cm be cut short too, I wonder.
It can be. Depending on what you’re starting with you’ll likely lose some velocity, but the rifle can be a lot “handier” if done right. My next project will be an 18” 223 or 22 creed.

Anyone thinking of testing the new Berger 156 EOL out of a shorty 6.5 CM?

very hot!
which picatinny rail do you have on your action ?i'm looking for a similar low profile rail .

Thanks,it’s the GAP 15 MOA non-typical rail. Don’t know who they have make it but if I had to guess I’d say Badger.

I have a 23.5" medium palma Bartlein on my CTR that I am thinking about cutting down to 18". Getting 2835fps with 140 ELDM and 143 ELDX now with Rl16. If I could still get 2675-2700 with a 140, I would be happy.

Very nice.

Threaded 5/8 or 9/16? Considering a Bart #3 on my next barrel, but wasn't sure about threading size for my Tbac.
I had a #3 finished at 23" and I went 9/16 just to be sure I had enough shoulder. If you're going shorter, I'm sure you could do 5/8.

Has anyone here had any experience with the Bergara B-14 Ridge SP in 6.5CM? If the thing only came with detachable mags it would tick all my off the shelf boxes I want since manufacturers still are working 6.5 in the 22-24" range sadly. I would probably throw it into a KRG Bravo just to give me the ability to use mags with it.

5/8x24. George wanted to be on safe side, I might could have gone another inch but decided to go 20”. Could have gone 22” with 9/16 but they had a 5/8 TBAC CB on hand so that’s how we rolled.

Took the new 16.5" PVA 6.5 Creedmoor to the range today to zero at 100 and shoot some groups. Factory ammo was Norma 130 match and Nosler 140 Ballistic Tips. Started with 130s 5 rounds to zero. 10 shot group at 100 yards shots 6 to 15. (After round 6 was fired, raised elevation up 2 clicks. Then fired 9 more)

Then fired 1 full box 20 rounds of 140 BT at 100. ( black target/ red bull)

Factory 700,
Timney
BC hook stock bedded.
Vortex 5-20x50

Ready for deer season!

I've got a PVA 18" 6.5 Creedmoor barrel on a Nucleus/Bravo combo...after selling off a 18" Rem-Age the siren song called me back.

With 85 rounds through it I'm getting 2590fps from Berger Ammunition 135gr Classic Hunters...which appears to be 'aight'.

Got some 130gr ELD-M loaded up with Varget, hoping to find a good node @ 2700+ otherwise I'll *just have* to buy more Berger ammo...

I’ve got a #3 Bart finished at 23” and threaded 5/8-24 with no issues using a CB brake and ultra7. This is just an FYI for anyone interested.

I have a new PVA turned 18” barrel. Will be hitting range hopefully this week with some factory Hornady American gunner 140 HPBT and federal 130 Berger’s. Shall see how she turns out

Yes I did in mine. Used factory Berger ammo. Averaged 2,550 out of my barrel, but this was with less than 100 rounds down the pipe so I expect it to pick up another 50-75 fps after it has another 100 down it.

10 shots at 100:

Reviving an old thread? Just upgraded from the old bravo to an XLR envy pro, and took off the razor put on a leupold mk5. Got some 140’s sitting around and will see what I can do with them out of this

America Fuck Yeah!!! This 18”6.5creed/TL3 setup has been a half moa platform with multiple shooters beyond 600yds thus far.... One of my favorite configurations.... It now sits in a Manners CS2 for a donor/intro rig that can get newer shooters Comfortable fast.
