Anyone ever shot a prairie dog with a 6CM?

I have a bunch of Hornady 108gr ELDm and 103gr ELDx lying around and am hoping someone shot some pdogs with either. Will they just pencil through or will there be a little boom?

Hoping I don't have to get a bunch of varmit ammo to try to see what the gun likes.

Never a 6cm on prairie dogs, but a 6x47 lapua. Pencil through. Only time they were very impressive for me was maybe a Texas heart shot.


87 vmax’s are cheap and do well.

I shot several from 400 to 800 yards with a 6XC, using 105 VLD Berger hunting bullets. The result wasn’t explosive at all that I remember, but you had no trouble determining if you hit. It knocked them over.

Aroand in SD I Around home (Wisconsin) I shoot the 95 SMK (@ $32.00/100) in 6MM CM and 6MM ARshoot the 87 Vmax (@$18.00/100) in both the 6MM CM, 243 Win and 6MM AR. The SMK is a straight though and the Vmax is V-E-R-Y explosive. If it is not too windy (or you set up correctly) the Vmax is "almost" as accurate.
