I went to turn on my Eotech yesterday and discovered my (not very old) Duracell batteries had leaked in the Eotech battery housing. I cleaned everything up as best I could, used emery cloth on the contacts and it still works with fresh batteries.

Should I try to inert the alkaline battery "acid" with baking soda or something else? Anyone else have this problem? Any other suggestions

Re: AA battery leakage in Eotech

Call Duracell and tell them their batteries destroyed your optics, you want a return authorization for repair/replacement.

Everyready sent me a check to replaced my Eotech when their batteries leaked.

Bought an Aimppoint and never looked back!

Anytime a battery leaks in something, flashlight, radio, etc, SEND IT BACK to the battery company.

Thanks for this cowboy_bravo: mine has had similar problems. I have about 2000 rounds through the rifle with the Eotech on it. What really surprised me was the batteries are fairly new and I have not fired the rifle much (~300 rounds) since I replaced the batteries...

Re: AA battery leakage in Eotech

My bozo of a partner once put cheap ass battery in one of my radios. Luckily I discovered it early enough and the little bit of leak cleaned up easy with some baking soda and a tooth brush.

See if Duracell will do something for you, sounds like a great idea.
