AndiScan and Bulletseeker Doppler

Cleaned my 6.5 Creedmoor barrel, and it did slowdonw quite a bit.
You can use Andiscan in many type of research in guns&stuff.
6.5CM.JPG

Tested my Krieger SS barrels yeasterday with 136 Scenar-L bullets.
AndiScan took the readings.

I am having the new FX True Ballistic radar on test too later on this week.
And my friend has my old LR, if hi got´s time, it would be nice to have these 3 on the range at the same time.

Andiscan is a great product ,but one can only hope Professor finaly opts to partner with someone that could finance the serialisation.
*its literaly a physics professor making them in his garage after work

I’ve been interested in the new 2nd gen Doppler chronographs and lean towards the AndiScan. I can’t help but wonder how dependent its long term operation will be upon continuing support from the professor going forward.

Now that they are selling a separate accessory package, does anyone know what accessories and mounts are included with the device?

The information is kind of hidden, but when you go to the product page (https://www.sqi-andix.com/andiscan-micro-a2/) and then under 'Resources' download the user guide, there will be the whole list of included accessories on page 4 and 5.

so do You guy agree with me in thinking that the andiscan is all but obsolete now with the Garmin xero coming out . The Garmin looks like a fantastic Doppler radar chrono .

The only thing the AS gives is a lot of configurability. I like the ease of use of the Garmin. Turn it on, a couple clicks and it's reading.

I would not say obsolete, but consumer ease of use is certainly enhanced with the Garmin, and the broad response to it. That said, I just ordered a Garmin but still keeping the Andiscan. One thing I can do with the AS that I cannot with the Garmin is set up the device directly on my hand guard without an ARCA rail.

I wouldn't buy the Andi today because the Garmin would do the same job for less cost. But it's not obsolete, the Andi does the job great so I'm not buying the Garmin either.

I’d never buy an andiscan over a garmin but if I had one already I wouldn’t be concerned. My biggest issue with it is it being one guys hobby, if he croaks or gets tired of it future support is gone unless someone equally competent takes it over. Garmin being less money and owned by a large company is a no brainer for anyone looking to buy something right now.

Both area419 and grayops have made mounts for the garmin . Both look great and use their mount or any mount . I never like the AS mounts very cheap and flimsy. I went to Order the new AS arca mounts a few months ago and it would cost $200 shipped for some 3d printed plastic

As much as I love my Andiscan I think that and my Labradar are now pretty obsolete.

the firmware was released 8/2023. Is there anyway to sign up for release notices, or do we have to hit the developers web page periodically to find out about the updates?

Andix SQI new SW
features and mentioning the that it is Mark-ii major upgrade and the
beta testing is running.

here is the list of new features:

----

A2/Mark-ii - A2.5.33C/A2.4.33C [beta-2]

(0) FW Compatibility
- US_A2.5.33+ requires TXR_A2.4.33+
- When upgrading from previous versions, both US and TXR must be
upgraded at once.
- Compatible with all HW A2.2. All A2ii features are implemented as SW
upgrade compatible with all A2.2 HW (all production units manufactured
after 7/2022). All current AndiScan A2 users can easily upgrade to
A2/Mark-ii.

(1) Triggering by Signal detection
- A2ii can now trigger by direct signal detection as an alternative to
standard acoustic pressure triggering.
- Configuration screen C2 allows to set either standard acoustic
pressure trigger (ACST) or signal detection trigger (SIG), both in 10
levels of sensitivity.
The highest level 10 is extremely sensitive and is intended only for
very special conditions.
- When signal detection trigger is selected, the measurement screen
shows two SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) values. The first shows the
standard measurement SNR the second shows the signal detection SNR. The
higher both values the better. Values above 20 mean high signal quality.

(2) Series data autosaving and current series editing
- A2ii autosaves the series data to SD card after each shot or after you
edit (delete) shots. At the end, it is finalised by a manual save
[Next_Long] which also opens the new series for recording.
- Autosaving slightly increases processing time after the shot by about
20-40% (depending on number of shots in series, type of SD card and
state of its buffer). It also creates and occupies new folder even if
the series is not finalised by explicit saving or all shots are deleted
from series (it will create file with 0 shot count). Autosaving can be
switched off in C8 configuration screen.
- Active series measurement can be browsed directly in the measurement
screen by [Back/Next] buttons. This browsing mode is indicated by
showing the shot number (No) in contrast with showing total count (Cnt)
when the screen shows the last measurement.
- Arbitrary shot (either the last one or any previous when in browsing
mode) can be deleted by [Back_Long] press.
- The series is finalised (no further editable) to SD card by
[Next_Long] press.

(3) Extended H measurement range
- The signal processing in H (High) measurement range now allows for
speeds up to 1500 mps.

(4) User interface improvements
- Main measurement screen is simplified and has much larger fonts for
easier reading. The original one can be chosen as an option in C8
configuration screen.
- All configuration screens now have more intuitive editing. Pressing
[Enter] in the given configuration screen activates editing mode and the
current edited fields lights up. [Back/Next] change the parameter value.
Another [Enter] press either leaves the editing mode or activates
another field.

(5) Factory defaults reset
- A selected configuration profile can be reset to factory defaults (by
erasing its CONFIG file) in ConfigProfile selection screen (accessible
by keeping [Enter] pressed during Welcome screen).

(6) Expert mode
- Expert mode is now needed only for selecting L (Low) measurement range
and for Manual (MAN) measurement mode. All other configurations are
available in Standard mode.

(7*) [will be in beta-3 release] Bluetooth (BLE) connectivity
- The A2ii can be connected to external device (any of iOS, Android,
mac, win) by BLE interface. It allows to fully remote control the device
and access the data stored on the device.

I see that this update is in Beta, any idea when it will go public?

I'm not seeing the 253 update on his site, just the 251 update?

Oh, and welcome Jan.

SW UserShell/TxR - A2.5.1/A2.4.0 is the last officially released one (Aug/2023). A2.5.33/2.4.33 is the beta-2 version being now tested by external beta testers. There will soon be also a next beta-3 including the bluetooth remote access and control/display. Beta versions are not shown on the web site. There are individually sent to beta testers. You can request it by email.
