AR Dedicated.22LR and accuracy?

Not a Keystone, Anschutz barrel blank I had made
Did you turn it to accept the CMMG bolt/collar? Or did you do something similar to what Keystone does and machine the breech to accept the CMMG bolt w/out the collar. I have a couple of those Anschutz blanks from Numrich Gunparts.

edit: I see you have the Chiappa Upper. Their bolt does not have a collar; very similar to the Tactical Solutions. You did machine the breech face then? Or do they have their own adapter/collar. I know my Tactical Solutions aluminum lightweight barrel has a removable collar.

Barrel is a true 1.25" diameter
WOW! I gotta admit I’m surprised the stack of alloy parts could hold up that weight without deforming and screwing your bore to scope alignment! I was thinking of going a lot lighter, but now you got me pondering…..
A bit ago I tested the TacSol factory set-up again at 100m, this time with a large knock-off bipod, and managed my best group (CCI SV)🤢🤮. At least it gives me a baseline. I haven’t given up on this project, I’m just swamped with other crap. I shot the rifle as a gag in our MARS event last month, and learned the big mags are not the problem I thought they would be, so I’m not pressed to cut any down. Function is still 100% regardless of the ammo, and I’m still dissatisfied with the buttstock and trigger for trying 400yd shots.

Running a 24" match rifle profile (1" under the handguard and .850" gas block forward) is pretty common with AR setups. I would think that the way Exscooze has his set up being shorter would be even less stressful. I like it.
I have two Tactical Solutions uppers. I really like them. If you can get your hands on the 10 or 15 rnd black dog magazines with the steel feed lips, they work much better than the CMMG magazines. It's cool you shot a match with it. Awesome!

That is cool! I actually sent one blank to Keystone Accuracy. I'm anxiously awaiting that one to show up. He's machining it to accept the CMMG bolt sans collar. I have another one of his that is an 18" Green Mountain barrel and it shoots great. The Anschutz blank is going to be 12" with a straight 0.750" profile threaded.
Cool Stuff!

Do you shoot through a chronograph? I'm curious to see what your velocity will be from a 12 " barrel.

I do have a chronograph. I'll have to break it out and see. I debated on whether or not to go this short with the barrel, but I've got the 18" and several 16" uppers already. I know that a member here, padom, had a KA 12" barrel that shot great. His experience and a quick reference here:
http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/22.html helped me make my decision. I do shoot mini-mags and looking at this chart, it doesn't seem to start losing velocity until you get below 12". That was my process for making the decision to go with a 12" barrel.

I purchased a used dedicated rimfire upper that has proven to be incredibly reliable with a vast expanse of ammo, from subs to hi-vel, truncated nose, etc.
Problem is, while I’ve never had a stoppage, it’s not accurate either.
Has anyone rebarreled a Tac-Sol upper for better groups?
....so back to the OP. It seems that Exscooze has the answer. You guys should link up. I know those Anschutz blanks are still available...or any other black of your choosing.

Well I hope I not to late to this party, Erik72 encouraged me to join this forum and this thread.
I am weighing all my options to replace my AR22, actually looking to build 3 of them, one to match my service rifle, one to match my match rifle and one to replace my rimfire sporter rifle.
Lots of information here

Latest build ,1-3/4"barrel for cmmg operating system.Groups are all ten shots @50 yds.

Holy Mackerel that thing's a pig! You machined that one to take the CMMG collar correct? What blank is that? On another note, I was able to procure a couple of those sleeves from Chiappa. I have a tactical solutions upper and the bolt face of the TS bolt lines up pretty dang well to the Chiappa barrel sleeve/adapter. I think to confirm further, I'll disassemble the TS barrel and put the Chiappa sleeve on it to function check. The end game for me is to utilize the Anschutz blank I have with the Tactical Solutions bolt/upper assembly. Maybe you and I can work something out.

I haven't been shooting the 12" Anschutz that Keystone Accuracy made for me as I don't have an SBR lower and I don't feel like fooling withe brace BS.

1.75 " aluminum round stock from local steel supplier, drilled out to accept 22lr barrel liner.

What brand liner did you use? I wouldn’t have expected one to shoot that well, but those are pretty impressive results

Redman barrel liner from Brownells, $45 liner,$34 for aluminum round stock

South bend 30" lathe ,12" 8mm drill bit, actually had to drill the round stock in two 10" pieces and thread together, between the drill length and round stock we didn't have enough throw on the lathe . picture is the first half with liner installed

Is the breech end of the barrel aluminum too? I would think it wouldn't take much abuse to start deforming that end of the barrel. Maybe a cap of some sort to capture the aluminum but give the collar something harder to beat agains.

Clint Did not sell this is miss information you can call him on his cell 360 640 1497 he's been doing this for over 17 years
I purchased my barrel from him not long ago. Great barrel and guy.
