YES! I had one for about a year. Biggest piece of shit vehicle I have ever owned. It was a fucking dog and nobody wanted to work on it when it broke. Rattle noises, clunks and the A/C even made a weird noise about every 2 minutes while driving. The auto 4x4 was a damn joke too. Now you pissed me off again just thinking about that fucker....

And being a Jeep Wrangler, everything breaks.

Both myself and my neighbor had 2008's for a painful few years. Worst vehicle I have ever owned. Neither of us kept them long.

What!?!?

Wow I guess the multiple Jeeps I had were of a different breed, beat mine hard and ran awesome. Ive had everything from daily drivers to very modified crawlers.

hummer 2 and 3 are not real hummers. H2 is a tahoe that get worse mileage and H3 is a S-10 blazer that get worse mileage. Total Garbage, jeeps are only slightly better with the Wrangler being the only one worth owning and that is after about $20k in mods. If you are looking for an Off Roader Wrangler is probably the best bet. If you are looking for a status symbol then they fit the bill but keep your wallet handy for repairs. If you are looking for both then H1 is the way to go.

I bought my H3 new in 2006 and never had one problem. Still have it. It is the best 4 wheel drive I ever had, and I had them all including a International Scout, FJ40, Pathfinder, CJ7 V8, etc Guess you got a lemon.
I have 35" tires on it too. You never said what size tires you have and when going to 35" tires you can not drive like it had the factory 32's or 33's. Does it have the Adventurer's package?

I almost bought a rare slant top H1 even though I was told never to drive faster than 60 MPH. It sold to some collector in Canada several hours before I was able to get it.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles.

Are H3 Hummers junk?...apparently they are. Would be interesting how they rate in Consumer Reports. Haven't owned one or a Jeep but knew a guy with an H2, friend of a friend, and he was always complaining about it constantly being in the shop.

This guy here though has to put in a vote for Toyota. They have done right by me whether in the snow, sand, or anything else I've thrown at 'em. Super reliable and very long lasting. Also hold their value pretty well.

You mean besides Toyota lying about there accelerator pedal problem and trying to cover it up as a floor mat issue. Wonder what else they have lied about to protect their precious name.

And yes, the H3 is total garbage. It is based on the Chevy Colorado chassis.

A few years back they offered $500 down $99 a month for 5 years to own one when they couldnt sell them. Almost as bad as when they had a buy one get one free sale on I cant remember what they were but they were the cars that never have paint on the roof.

I was looking to buy an SUV a couple of years ago.
I was looking for a used one. Plenty of H3's around. I test drove one, it was nicely appointed and the fit and finish seemed good. While I realize that it isn't supposed to be a race car, the damn thing was a dog with that crappy 5 cylinder engine.

Went with an FJ Cruiser instead and have been VERY happy.

Drove enough H1's overseas to know I would never own one as a POV. What I would like to do it find an H2 in really good shape and see if I can stuff a CAT motor and tranny in it. For now I will keep my 7.3 that is still going strong after 13 years. One of the nurses at the local med clinic drives an H3 but I don't see them on the road much out here these days.

fords better no chevy is better no dodge no toyota. the are all junk or great depending on which one you get. there is a lot more to an h2 or h3 than a colorado or a tahoe with a different body on it. all vehicles break some more than others but that is not dependent on brand. the ones with the most problems usually have a loose nut behind the steering wheel. the h3 has a rear locker which really helps off road. the fj cruisers are skid plated underneath like a tank. you gota watch out though because a lot of guys get em new and fourwheel the wee out of them.[i worked on them for a fj wheeling club while i was at school to become an auto tech] this also can cause the dreaded lemon condition.

lol better beef up that suspension a 3406 cat and 15 speed tranny will weigh as much as an h2. not to mention the rear end would not handle the near 2000lbft of torque and the other rear end could not handle the $20,000 price tag for a used engine. semi stuff dont come cheap. ford worked with cat to develop the 7.3 power stroke. it is similar to the c4 or c6 all be it a smaller version

They all have their problems, just some more than others. My 2012 Jeep wrangler had to have the heater core, radiator and oil cooler replaced at 8,000 miles so I don't have much good to say about that. Especially after being without heat for 3 months last winter because of a shitty dealer and it had to be one of the coldest winters.

coach4christ --- The Bronco which is one vehicle I never owned must have been very much like my International Scout. The Scout had fitting on the distributor, generator for oil fittings to oil it and the oil filter was not a throw away unit and the air filter had an oil wash so it never had to be replaced. I once had the top off, doors off and pulled the choke out so it ran slow and then me and the wife got out of it and walked along side it on the desert. I did some stupid things when I was young and wouldn't share half of them.

I did not know who did it now, thanks for that bit. I do know CAT exited the on-road diesel market a couple of years ago as a business deicision re complying with current emission rules. I do work for CAT and deal with their engineers on a regular basis.

i was told by the old mechanic where i work that cat helped develop the 7.3 power stroke. he is the guy to go to if you have a problem with a b or c model cat. he is one of those guys that thinks cat and ford are the best and he must have married them in his head. the navistar engine i saw looked like an 3406e under all the epa crap. i dont work for cat but i do work on them. thanks for letting me know i was spreading untruth i hate sounding like an idiot and giving misinformation

I have had pretty good luck with my silverados. H2 and h3 in my opinion was a disgrace by gm. They should of just kept Oldsmobile and Saturn around
