Hey guys,

I was checking headspace on my Stag10, and completely took my Brownell's BCG apart (including the extractor pin). I'm embarrassed to ask this question, but where in the world did this tiny little spring come from (see pics)? It was laying inside the bolt, in the void behind the extractor. The extractor has a spring and rubber washer around it... and wondering if this tiny spring fits into the larger spring on the extractor? It's not from the ejection pin/spring, etc? It's a complete mystery to me. I've look at bolt parts diagrams and still can't figure it out. I have some photos to share.

If you know where this thing goes, please let me know! Thx so much guys!

Right where that red arrow is pointing, when doing the dis/reassembly keep thumb pressure on the extractor and that will help retain that spring to keep you from losing it which isn't that hard to do.

So that little spring does indeed fit into the existing wider spring (with the rubber gasket around it).... it’s fits into the middle of the spring where my red arrow is pointing? So there are two springs there?

It's another option like the elastomeric spring liners you may see on other AR extractor spring kits. Spring in spring instead. It's a full step past my understanding of springs, so no idea why this vs that, but there's a reason!

Grease can help with re-assembly of small bits. Enough to keep them stuck together. I'd dab a bit on the end of tiny spring and stuff it in there.
