I hope someone can offer some assistance. I've searched with the better of the two search engines for the hide and on regular Google with no results.

I just recently purchased a Bushnell 4200 Elite Tactical 3X12. My problem is the hash marks and numbers on the turrets are dark green which I have difficulty seeing in all but direct light. I contacted Bushnell and they indicated they had no other turrets. I tried searching for some kind of custom turret and could not find anyting as a direct replacement with white markings.

I've thought about trying to paint the marks but I envision a disaster with that idea.

Anybody have any ideas? Thanks

Re: Bushnell turrets

Thanks for the reply, I had seen them but it appeared that they made turrets that were all BDC of one type or another. I'll contact them and see if they can get me turrets with different colored markings.

Re: Bushnell turrets

those hash marks engraved? you can try going over the green with white, then hurry up and wipe off with a papertowel, basically attempting to wipe off the paint where you don't want it, and leave the rest to fill the engraved line.

or take a very sharp pointed knife, scrape out the paint and keep scraping until you scratch the black off the knob leaving you with a silver line.

the single large numbers on these turrets are done that way, along with the longer line. also made a mid length line every four adjustments.

i also scratched in the "U", "L" and "R" with the arrows where appropriate.

Re: Bushnell turrets

Top,
I want to say they are engraved but I need to look closer at them to be sure.

Did you engrave the extra numbers/lines on your turrets? Looks very good. I'm not sure I could be so precise. The up/down and R/L markings on mine are very small but I'm hoping it will become reflexive to know which direction is which.

Re: Bushnell turrets/Problem solved

Just wanted to say thanks for the helpful comments and tell you all how my issue was resolved.

First off, A big thanks to Grendel 6.5, who works for Bushnell and in my opinion went above and beyond by letting me know he had new turrets with tan hash marks that he is sending me. From what he told me they may be more available soon for others with this issue.

For the lettering on the scope tube itself I got a paint pin from a crafts stored as Team-Send-It suggested, the tip was a little to large but as TopPredator suggested I dabbed the paint on and it stay in the engraved marks and just wiped off the excess with a little nail polish remover.

I'm looking foward to see how well the paint stay's in the marks in our wet Washington weather.

Thanks again guys for all the help!
