Caldwell tack driver bag

What are your thoughts on this shooting bag? I bought one and filled it with cat litter and is very unforgiving on positioning your stock in it. It takes a lot of positioning and effort to get it set to shoot off of. Looked at Uncle Bud's bull bag but picked the Caldwell mostly on lower price. Also would walnut media be a better filler than cat litter?

I looked at it but bought the bulls bag instead in no small part because of the flexibility of it. All my bags are filled with sand of some weight, better for reducing recoiled but they get very very heavy.

As a media for just creating a rest cat litter should be fine.

they are junk, I have had two, they come apart immedietly. If you pay attention to Guns and Ammo, or shooting times, everyone that is not brand spanking new is wrapped from top to bottom in duct tape, to keep it holding together.

As far as positional shooting off a rest, get a back pack, and fill it with stuff....clothes, gear, anything, to add wieght and girth. It will be 40lbs lighter, and more realistic shooting from. If you hunt, or shoot matches, you most likely will not be wheel barreling your caldwell rest with you.

I use my Army issue small ruck with a zafu (Zen meditation cushion, filled with kapok) stuffed inside, and all the stuff I actually use stuffed in the pockets or in the top of the ruck. This way I have everything on my back when at the range, and also have a good shooting rest. I practice dropping it and setting up quickly lying across it (with a bipod), with the weapon on top of it traversing back and forth, using the spotting scope wedged in between the pockets for a quick spotting setup, my partner shooting off my ruck while its still on my back, etc. It's actually a pretty versatile solution.

For g'hog hunting or matches I use a rear bag full of coarse saw dust that's packed.

It weighs very little and it's easy to keep clipped to the outside of my day pack (hunting).

Most of the caldwell stuff is junk, although I just got one of their bargain bipods and it's been pretty decent thus far.

I have a caldwell bag and a bulls bag , but my pack is more flexible. The stock is resting on a small pouch and in that pouch is a small pvc pipe cut in half and some foam glued in. Or I can rest the rifle in other places with all the pouches.The bag is an eagle becker patrol pack and I have some kydex type sheets slid into the sides of the pack, it keeps it fairly rigid if I take some stuff out and doesnt take up space
