Well gents, I did it again... I came home with another Enfield today. This particular specimen is a 1945 Long Branch No.4 Mk I*. It is in excellent shape as far as I can see, and is numbers matching. I tore it apart when I got her home today and cleaned all the cosmoline out of it (there was a whole lot) and she cleaned up nice. I have searched high and low and haven't found any import markings on this rifle either (unless the .303 stamp on the barrel is the import mark). There are a few stamps and cartouches that I am unfamiliar with, but I am doing the research to see what they mean. There are a couple small "S" stamped parts, which I'm sure is either an indication of a rebuild, or they were maybe leftover Savage parts sent to the Long Branch factory (they had cosmoline caked under them as well). If you have any insight, please feel free to voice it! Have a look-see:

Been there before when it comes to Enfields, at one point I could not get enough of them. I still have almost all that I have ever purchased, and have moved on to other rifles, but still love my Enfields. Congrats on the new rifle.

    Love 'em!

My first Enfield was a '45 Long Branch and I still have it today. Wish the exterior condition was as nice as yours (mine looks like it was dragged behind a tank on it's way to two wars), but it's still very accurate and a joy to shoot.

    Enjoy!
