Gunsmithing CDI Bottom Metal Question.

I'm looking to replace my factory bottom metal on my Rem700 PSS SA with the unit from CDI since I have lots of AICS mags from another another 700 project. I would like to know if it is a drop in unit or if there is inletting ( major or minor) to be done. If so, can I do it myself. Heard great things about the unit and would rather not buy another complete AICS. Any and all advice appreciated.

Re: CDI Bottom Metal Question.

I would say minor, but you do have to remove quite a bit of stock material. You can do this yourself, I have done a few of them by hand. Just go slow and check your work. Send a PM to Cdi and he will help you with whatever you need.

Re: CDI Bottom Metal Question.

Or CDI can inlet for you for $60, and will likely turn your stock around within a day of receiving it.
