I have wanted to have a 1st. Cav patch for an avatar for a long time but am too computer illiterate to do it
A big thank you to Sean the Nailer for his help.

The 12 year old kid from next door did it for me. He didn't get it exactly right but close enough for Govt. work.
Made me Happy. His fingers fly fast and it wasn't much for him to do it. I wish I had those skills but OLD dogs don't learn new tricks too well. FM

kt3309 and others. It is not the first time I have heard someone reference that as to our patch. I am sure it is an old "joke" used by many that wished they were good enough to have been with us in RVN.

I have seen more than a few broken noses and black eyes and fools on their asses on the floor when someone was foolish enough to bring it up, and handed out a few myself as we tend to have a very short sense of humor about that and a lot of PRIDE.

Check out some history and see who it was that was first to invade the Ho Che Minh trail and go in to Cambodia around 1970.
Also check out who it was that relieved the Marines at Khe San. It was not the 4th. Div. and the river and lines were crossed.

I am old now but still on the spry side of my life cycle and not able to do a lot of asskicking, but I will try it if you say that to my face.
I may not win but you will know I was in the fight.

When I was in the 1st. Cav. it was AirMobile and if it wouldn't fly in or under a helicopter, we didn't have it. All light infantry, Move fast, kick ass, and take names.

The intention of my OP was to show that a young kid helped out his neighbor to get something done that the Old Fart wanted but couldn't do by himself as the Old Fart is a computer DUMMIE, but we GoterDone.

We will maybe work on posting pictures now. depending on the baseball schedule and I attend all games he is in.

I am out of here, got a hat and duffed. FM E. Co 5/7 Cav. 1st. Cavalry Div. AM 69/70

Not a joke, as the ref was to 1st Cav during the Korean war, due to lack of leadership at one point. After the war to a man everyone in the 1st Cav had something to prove. One of the reasons the colors were brought back to Benning to form the new Air Cav as many of the top brass did not want the 2nd ID to change at all, so they changed 1st Cav (mech) to Air Mobile.

Yeah, but it was really cold and they had to stick to the roads to keep deadlines. No pun intended. Meanwhile, over the divide was Chosin.

meh, the 1st is half as historic as the 3rd, but still better than certain Corps...........................................
