I picked up one of the Eurooptic TRG 22s in .260 for a dual purpose hunting/target rifle. The barrel is 26" and I'll be shortening it to make it a better hunting size and weight. Thinking about 20", but would appreciate input on this. Will probably be shooting mostly 123 or 139 gr scenars but my hunting rounds are 120 gr barnes ttsx. I was thinking of trying to chrono some loads with the 26" bbl before I cut it and then rechecking after shortening. I'd do this carefully if anyone is interested in the data.

Finally got her done. Cut to 21" and threaded for an elite iron suppressor. Chrono'd it today, I cried a little, lost almost 150 fps. But also lost about 1 lb and handling is sweet. Most of the velocity was recovered by going from 42 to 43.5 gr H4350. I just fired a few rounds to chrono but accuracy is same or better.

Re: Chopping my .260 TRG

Here is some data with my hunting round, 127gr 6.5mm LRX with 2 different loads of H4350, n=4-5 shots each. Bottom line with this barrel, it lost about 30fps/inch, pretty much what I expected. Only .7moa@600yds, I'm happy

26"
42gr H4350- 2850fps
43.5gr H4350- 2937fps

21"
42gr H4350- 2691fps, delta=159fps
43.5gr H4350- 2792fps, delta=145fps
