I have a new hard-shelled gun case for the new .308, which has the ‘punch out’ squares of foam. My Barrett came with a custom foam insert that was an exact fit and much firmer foam (that I like better) than the 'punch out' foam in the new case. I'd like to find a custom, firmer foam insert if possible.

Any idea where I can get a firm, custom foam cutout for the .308’s gun case?
Preference is to not have to ship the gun and scope. I kept the punchout and have the dimensions if that helps.

Go witha specialist, the will have the correct types of foam and can do custom work with laster-cut based cutting from CAD drawings. Look for somebody that is specialised/has track record for products like aerospace/mechanics tools or firearms. Cheap foams or foams designed for other things can be actually be corrosive.

You can get the proper foam that you cut yourself on eBay that'll fit your typical Pelican case. You can use a hot knife that you make yourself or an electric carving knife.

I bought some from here, they turned out pretty good. They also sell different kinds of foam that is reasonably priced if you just wanted to give it a go. Only problem with the custom cut stuff is when you decide to change something up you have to cut it up to fit your changes. Overtime I ended having to modify all of my custom cut foam. For example🙄
