Not sure if this has been posted or not, and definately not trying to take away from other members/sponsors that do dipping/painting, but there is a product that you can camo dip your own stuff. print These guys are good to deal with so far, and have a fair amount of camo patterns to choose from.

Re: DIY skin dipping

Has anyone besides me herd of a company called Colorworks? I used the drive a truck for a local furniture company and every so often we would take pieces that would be put on the furniture to have a finish that looked like wood put on them. Anyway long story short, they invented this process as far as I know. I had them do a stock for me back in the early to mid 90's with somekind of pattern that my local smith would have sware was pot.lol Anyway might want to check them out.

Re: DIY skin dipping

I remember seeing a damn commercial on tv about 15-20 years ago, that was very similar to this. As far as I can remember, it was paint in like squeeze bottles and you made your own "design" like spinart really. Then you dip whatever, but they were using it for hats, shoes, shirts...you know....gay shit. But I tried looking the other night for this "gay shit" and couldn't find it anywhere. I figured for the die hard DIY'er this kit might not be too bad of an adventure.

The way Colorworks did their process was they had a liquid of some sort and they would take a thin sheet of plastic that had the camo pattern on it, they would lay that on top of the liquid, wait a few seconds and then dip what ever object down though the center of it, when they pulled it out the camo was adheared to whatever they stuck in it.

Re: DIY skin dipping

If you want some ghetto dipping just get a flat tray that will fit all of what you wanna dip and fill it full of water. Take spray paint or regular paint and pour a little on the surface then dip your victim in. I got to learn about this in my sons 1st grade art class and it was pretty cool. We did smaller items but I dont see any reason you could not do a stock. When the paint is on the surface you can stir it into patterns, we used a chop stick to make a zerbra stripped vase.
