Factory Savage 7mm Rem Mag 1000 yard "Video"

This is my Uncle's Factory Savage 7mm Rem Mag, that I am doing the handloads for. This was our final load development, so we wanted to see what it would do at longer ranges. He can now say that he is a member of the 1000 yard club. We had to tweak the MV on our ballistic software to get it to mach up with the actual drop. That is why he shot over the target with that first shot. But we got it dialed in. Then we moved up to 750 yards to make sure all was well. Man was he happy! He could not believe that he could even hit the target in the first place. All that has been done to the gun, was have George at (Precision Shooting Sports) put a Holland Brake on it. It has a 20 MOA bass with a Nightforce scope on it. Sorry I don't have a picture of the gun. I will get one.

Your range is fing awsome , best back drop for a range I have ever seen. Good job on an other nice video @ ... 1000 bloody yards!

No that's not a compressed load. I screwed up! Its is 72g of H-1000. The OAL is 3.435

Thanks Guys. My uncle doing the shooting can't stop smiling.

The camera is a Panasonic HDC-tm700 with a 2.2x telephoto lens. My 1400 yard video was shot without the lens.

But that was pretty awesome shooting, I had a factory 7mm RM Savage, and it shot very well if you didn't get it too hot!

That is great. Retumbo must work for those factory Savages. Mine is rediculously accurate for a factory gun with the Accubonds. Haven't stretched its legs yet, but this video is definitely a motivator.

I think I will need something a little bigger. Those hills are 5-10 miles away. Thinking howitzer.

Great video I hit steel last weekend with a factory 308 at 1200yrds on a 20x22 inch plate 8 out of 13 shots and I gotta say its very addicting!

Sweet range but be carefull if the wrong fish and game officer saw you shooting there he may ticket you for shooting across a road. I got off with a warning for doing the same thing.

those darned savages. nice shooting indeed. a good tripod and the right video camera and a guy would have a good spotter.
